I was grateful it made me feel better, because I had a friend who was so sick with her daughter she couldn't drink anything and had to have a home IV to rehydrate.  :(

Anyone else find water to help with nausea?  I tried ginger tablets, they made it worse.  I've noticed when I eat sweets the nausea returns, too, and it had gone away for a couple weeks.

Ha! so much here I'm with you on!  Peppermint stick ice cream craving! and can't find it around us!!! who makes it, where do you get it?

Water.  Last pregnancy the third trimester was all about the urgent, nauseating thirst.  my sister had it too with her pregnancies.  so weird.  my "thirst" hasn't started yet, but i'm sure it's coming!

I am really blessed to have a local creamery (Dewar's) about 6 blocks from my house and they make a divine peppermint stick ice cream!  It's expensive, but I kept my freezer stocked!  LOL.  Dreyer's also makes a peppermint ice cream, but it's seasonal, and they're local as well, but on the factory scale.

Went to get a new phone yesterday and got so bored standing in the Radioshack, I let DH finish the transaction while I went across the street to the Frozen Custard stand w/ DD.  Low and behold -Peppermint Stick custard MADE FRESH!  I'm in heaven.  Thank god for the super slow process of buying a cell phone!!!

Woohoo!!  So happy for you!  LOL.  It's the little things, really. :)

Lemons. Mmmmmm. So sour and juicey. I just ate 2 of them in the last half hour. Can't stop. In four pregnancies, this is the first time I've sent out DH for a late night craving filling grocery run.

Thank goodness I'm craving that and not chocolate or something or I'd have a gained a billion pounds already. I'm seriously out of control.

Here is one for out-of-control.  And I'm afraid this post isn't very MDC or natural mama friendly.  My sister called us for an impromptu playground trip, and on the way I was like, "but i'm soooo hungry!"  Hmmm, well there's a Checker's drive thru right next to that playground.  I decide a fast food trip is okay since it's less than once in a while.  So, this pregnant lady pulls thru there with no one else but a 2 year old baby, and orders a double cheeseburger, a BLT, fries, a medium vanilla shake.  And then, after she had already swiped my card, I had her swipe it again and add 2 rolled in brown sugar deep fried apple pies for $1.  Wow, I was really hungry, and it all got eaten!

Misti, Hummus is the easiest, cheapest, and always on hand snack to whip up around here.  You just need to get a can of tahini, and you mix it with a can of garbanzo beans/ chickpeas in a food processor or blender.  Cumin and turmeric are the seasonings, and garlic, olive oil, salt, and can add lemon.  I never see this written, and it's not really authentic, but my trick is to add a little mayo to make it more creamy than grainy.

ROFLOL!!!!  I have been that hungry, but I haven't been so successful satisfying my hunger!!  I always run out of room and feel sick before I feel satisfied!  LOL.   That is to say, I'm totally impressed.  ;)

Oooh, I totally miss Checkers. We moved from MD last April when DH left Active Duty in Air Force and we no longer have it where we moved :( and I soooo miss those apple pies lol. Again, I got checkers like maybe twice a year, but it was such a treat!

I'm pretty sure we don't have Checkers around here, but I am disturbed to learn that there is still a restaurant that makes fried pies (RIP McDonald's cherry pies from the '80s... those things were SO good) and that I did not know about it. Of course given that I am pregnant, I might have tried to drive out of state to get one if I had known. So maybe it's better this way. ROTFLMAO.gif

Great. Thanks, ladies. Now I'm craving some kind of fried apple or cherry pie. Dang it! I have no idea where to even begin finding a vegan version of one of those. I never eat at fast food places so I have no idea where to even start looking at ingredients.

Oh, goodness. Sometimes I think I get cravings by association. I had been eating grapefruit every day for weeks after seeing some people talk about it on here. Now I have a little sore on my tongue from so much grapefruit. haha.

My birthday is in April, and I've already told my husband that for my birthday I'm going to have a great big white or angel food cake piled high with strawberry frosting and sprinkles and a side of vanilla bean ice cream. It's all I've been thinking about for a couple of weeks. The cake gets more ridiculous in my mind as the days go by. DS's birthday is two days before mine. I'm fantasizing about a wonderful, mouth-puckeringly tart lemon cake for his. mischievous.gif

My mandarin and orange juice cravings are out the window. Now it's bbq sauce, mangoes, borscht and canned spinach. It's hilarious because I've never been a lover of bbq sauce. Famous Daves is practically a nightmare for me and I'm almost considering going there!!!!! I NEED BBQ RIBS! ASAP! Canned spinach is something I've loved since childhood, but I don't really eat it very often, mostly because I'm the only one who will eat it -- now I can't get it out of my mind!

I've been craving coffee but I didn't want all that caffeine. So I found this in the health food store today...

It's really good. I think it is hitting the craving.

YES! That sounds good.

I've been craving milk like crazy! I've been giving in to that craving, since I really think my body needs it if I'm craving it. The only other thing I've been craving is egg salad. I'm not sure what the biological need is for that, though, so I've been trying to keep it in moderation.

I usually don't drink milk, it doesn't agree with me and I don't particularly enjoy it... but craving chocolate milk like crazy... I make it myself so it's not so bad, but man I keep going through gallons of milk like they're nothing.

I really like chocolate almond milk as an alternative! It has just as much calcium, more protein, and less sugar than the regular kind.

Oh, yes. Chocolate almond milk is amazing. I have even found a brand that had dark chocolate almond milk. I was never a fan of chocolate milk, even when I ate dairy, so I just heat it up and have it as hot chocolate and it's amazing.
