Hey everyone! Long time no see! I know a lot of us who frequented this thread are down for the count temporarily, but thought I'd bump it and update my own progress, such as it is.
I only hit the gym once last week (at 38 weeks) because of manuscript craziness. I did manage to get a few long walks in and a marathon house cleaning, but random social engagements combined with being tethered to my computer for 8 hours a day meant that the gym at least was out. The workouts felt good, though this week the baby has dropped a bit and I'm feeling much more pelvic pressure and so on. I'm also a little worried (probably just total paranoia) that some of my workouts pushed the baby higher. I was debating swimming today, but I sort of feel weirdly like I actually want this baby putting as much weight on things as possible to get the ball rolling. Does that make any sense at all? Up until last week I was still going to the gym 3 or so days a week, but I really feel like at this stage I need to incorporate more walking to get this baby to fall.
At any rate, the goal for this week is lots of walking (I did 2 miles last night) and lots of bouncing on the birthing ball. I'm planning on getting to the gym tonight and tomorrow (tonight might be a swim if the heat is just too unbearable) and then playing it by ear for the rest of the week. How is everyone else doing?
Ithappened, it sounds like recovery is going pretty well. Are you walking? Can you swim again yet?
Pennywhistle, I'm so sad about your bed rest craziness. I really hope things clear up for you soon.
LeAnn, how are you feeling after the marathon moving in session? Is your new neighborhood good for walking? How's the heat?
