Thoughts on this article?

I find the comment section entirely full of pro-vax angry parents, and was surprised at how many would support taking away our freedom to choose.

one commentor:

"I frankly think that parents who refuse to vaccinate for reasons other than medical should be charged with neglect, and their children should be removed and vaccinated."

Wow.

It angers me. The comments anger me. They are intolerant, and would gladly turn in their own freedom without batting an eye. The problem with forced medication is that the road goes both ways. When the population loses its rights, everyone will be affected. Everyone, including the rabid pro-vaccine crowd.

Where will the mandates end? Will they be able to force you to do whatever medical procedure they choose? If your kid is 2 lbs overweight, will they force medicine/surgery? What if your kid is a tad hyper? Will they diagnose him with ADHD and force you to medicate him? Doctors are too willing to slap labels on kids. And medicine--psychotropic DRUGS--are always recommended. I do not want my kid's health to be at the hands of these people. The mainstream, western allopathic medical system does not usually take nutrition into account. They push drugs and surgery most of the time. My mother has been seen by many different specialists for her brain tumor, including Johns Hopkins, and they NEVER ask her about nutrition. Ever. I have asked, believe me. They don't give a crap about nutrition. I do not trust this system. It is wrong. And, for now, I have the freedom to make my own choices about my family's health care. For now.

So, when our medical freedoms are stripped away--starting with forced vaccinations--this will be the beginning of a tyrannical nightmarish system. I pray this never happens in our once free country.

I commented on the article. Adding another voice to the debate. The world must know that people like us will not be silenced. We will not go away.

I do not like vaccines, but I don't want to tell parents how to treat their children. Heck, some of the vaccines shed, so you know, my little unvaxxed DD could catch something from them. Do I throw a fit about that? No. But, because they happen to be the majority, they think they can steamroll their opinions on everyone else. And that's all they are--opinions. A belief in an idea. They want to force me to believe what they believe. This is an age-old problem, like religious intolerance. I don't believe in their vaccine religion, and I'm persecuted for it!

Yes The New York Times is a great fearmongering media vehicle.  Imagine how many parents saw the article, and never really gave vaccines a second thought, now they are on the bus too, with damning all non-vaxers, without any real justification, other than "they said its so", so it must be"....

Quote:
after years of mandatory childhood vaccination (which I should probably call “mandatory” vaccination), few serious problems have been confirmed

I suppose the US government might disagree with the writer. Nearly 2.5 billion dollars have been paid out for vaccine related injuries and deaths.
