Itsasecret - my husbands secondary love language is Words of Affirmation. His primary is Touch. Of course, these are at the bottom of my list. Mine is Acts of Service so it is easy for him to get on my good side by just doing a bit of cleaning or making dinner. I still can't remember to give him his Words throughout the day. Seriously! How many times do I have to say "You are the best, most talented, wonderful, sweet and kind husband" before he gets it. Obviously 10xday is not enough
. Maybe I need to get back to setting a timer on my phone to remind me to text him or say something. It seems like cheating but it totally works!
My list shrank recently but I just added a bunch more to it so it has expanded to even more than its starting length.
My primary love languages ARE Touch & Words of Affirmation. DH's are Quality Time and Word of Affirmation.
Somehow both DH and I TRY to show love through Acts of Service - even though that isn't a primary for either of us. I can't figure out why the delicious dinners I make don't make him feel loved and he can't figure out why I don't feel loved every time he cleans the garage. We obviously suck at love languages :)
I think the book is interesting and makes sense, though.
chiromama01
set up crib and nursery (we've decided to convert home office to nursery)
purchase new crib mattress
find baby monitor from dd
figure out who I can hit up for baby boy hand me downs :)
organize dd's clothes/closet/playroom
buy box of nb diapers (gasp...I know, but can't handle any more laundry right now!!)
new moby
freezer meals
exercise 2-3x per week
so let me add to my list... figure out which state we will be living in
get new license if necessary, to work in new state, if there is a new state
potentially start a new business, again
find some way to make DH feel guilty for "changing the game" yet again (ok, this one is just for me, i won't actually do it!)
do everything involved with organizing a relocation, yet again, and on my own, as DH will be away at training
PRAY THAT NONE OF THE ABOVE HAPPENS AND NEW JOB IS LOCAL!!!!!!!!
...yay for progress!!
wow, everyone's lists are coming along nicely. I have cut some stuff from my list I think, I'll have to go back and check. I think the only things I feel MUST be done before babe are:
buy new van (probably not going to happen and I am pretty annoyed, especially since the van door still isn't fixed, the drivers side window is now stuck down and the air conditioning doesn't blow at all anymore. so to buckle baby and Juniper in I will have to lean over one of them and it's just a PIA, plus I consistently have to be worried someone will rob my van and the kids get overheated in the car...and luckily it hasn't rained yet, but that should be fun)
get a few more things on birth list
but laundry detergent for baby stuff and diapers
wash baby stuff and diapers
Just tidying up my list here ...
For the birth/pp
In the house
Family
Administrative stuff
Health and self-care

OH MY GOSH! Chiro, I have'nt been following the chat thread, so I don't know what's up here, but let me tell you that your list gave me a contraction. I hope you are keeping your head!
Thanks for these good ideas! Yay!
I've actually got three different google docs with separate lists for all the stuff on my "list"...
Here's a shortened list...
1. Finish renovation on the basement office (at this point, it's mostly installing the flooring.)
2. Move office from upstairs to downstairs
3. Buy furniture; paint; and setup old office as new "big boy" room for DS.
4. Move DS into new room.
5. Set nursery back up as nursery - put crib back from toddler bed to crib, launder linens, etc.
6. Get baby things (bassinet, swing, pack-n-play, boppy, etc.) out of storage, clean and setup.
7. Sterilize pump parts, bottles, pacifiers. (won't use bottles or pacis for several weeks, but might as well clean them.)
8. Get infant dipes out of storage and launder.
9. Make cloth mommy pads.
10. Make mommy freezer packs.
11. Make a new boppy case, if time permits.
Oh yeah... and make and freeze MORE dinners/meals.
I would love to see any pics you might be able to post. I got so excited about this idea that I just ordered a "bare naked boppy" and am headed to the fabric store this weekend to pick up two types of minky for two different covers. Yay!

so we still don't have any news about the location of dh's potential new job yet, so we're still praying it's local
let me add to the list...
birth supplies for hospital water birth
reserve birth tub for hospital water birth
hypnobabies practice
keep on top of household chores so i don't come home to a disaster when he does finally arrive!!!
here's my updated list:
get prefolds and covers back
get cosleeper back
organize and paint DD's room this will hopefully be done next week. it's taken me a lot longer than i expected!
get more all in one's/covers once i got all my covers back, i realized that i actually have quite a bit and don't need anymore at this point!
start/finish knitting babies blanket
start/finish matching hat and booties for baby
organize house this will be a never-ending task for the rest of my life, so i'm ok with not having it crossed off at the moment
freezer meals one meal in, with the plan of one or two tomorrow, as well as making up some hamburger patties
borrow or craigslist an ergo probably not going to happen, only one i know with one still uses it and don't have the money to buy one new or used right now
buy or craigslist a double jogging stroller
wean DD
start collection of boy clothes
find big sister/little brother clothes
knit sweater for baby
I got my boppy second hand from a friend, so I just made a pattern out of muslin and then cut my fabric using that. Unfortunately I only bought a 1/2 yard and that was slightly not enough for it. Since then, I did purchase a pattern for one of those shopping cart covers that also has a boppy cover pattern inside. If I actually manage to find time to do it, I'll probably use the bought paper pattern. I still have the one I made before, and it will work still, but I'd love to have a fresh new (and prettier) one. ;-)
Oh. and I used velcro on my last one, but I may use a zipper this time, just because I have a shoebox full of zippers, and not much velcro. The velcro works nicely though.

I have NO IDEA why I can't change the size of these pics. Sorry they're so big. Maybe the browser I'm using?!
