I'm looking into this for my ds who is 7, and mainly for an acute issue he has been having. He wakes at night with sneezing fits, and his nose sounds like its filled with runny mucus, but when I ask him to blow, nothing much comes out. I keep thinking he is coming down with a cold, but nothing materialises. He is perfectly fine during the day. This has been happening the last several nights.
I have used allium cepa in the past which does work, and I have just run out of the tube I have, so I was going to reorder some more. I was doing some research into which other remedies I could be using for this, and came across the constitutional remedies. After reading through all 8 main paediatric types, he seems to best fit the Phosphorus picture...it describes him almost perfectly.
So how are these remedies used? Do you use in place of matching the remedy to the symptom? Phosphorus doesn't really match the runny nose symptom. Is it best to just stick with the allium if it has worked in the past....and not to mess with constitutional remedies that are best prescribed by a classical homeopath? Is this something an untrained person can prescribe based on personality/nature match? (I'm not sure I would spend the $$ going to see a homeopath, as he is generally very healthy...but may consider it sometime)
Can anyone give their experiences using constitutional remedies for their children? Are they supposed to balance any symptom they get so you just use that one remedy for any issue they have?
Thanks for the input!
