I bleed off and on and I'm 5 weeks

3 weeks 4 days and still bleeding lightly.  This went on for 6 weeks with first baby.  Really annoying when I'm feeling like I want to be more active and maybe seduce DP (if baby decides to sleep when DD1 is in bed).  It would be a nice Christmas present for him.

3 weeks today and I went all day yesterday without bleeding that had a gush at night.  Sigh...

I got a little outfit for me to wear for DH tonight. A little early present if you know what I mean.

We attempted a few days ago....and by attempted I mean, DS1 decided he would rather get in the shower, too, than play with Nana. Oh well. Things did seem....functional...though, so hopefully next time goes better!

Yeah I'm hoping things work right- I double checked with my MW that there are *no* tears or wounds of any kind and she checked her notes and said there wasn't nothing, so I am sure it will be fine.  Hopefully.  I checked with her because just the thought of there being something that needed to heal would have gotten in my head and made me tense, you know?  So even though I'm 1 month pp and would have been healed, probably, I just needed to know that everything was intact anyway.  :-)  So cheers to some Xmas lovin'!

Update for last night! Everything went well and we even sent the kids to bed early cuz things heated up faster than expected. lol

I have my six week check-up this week and I'm looking forward to it! I think my tear has healed as good as it's going to get, even though things look different still, and I'll just be glad to get the ok from my midwife :)

I'm feeling mostly normal again with the exception of continued spotting/bleeding, which I figure I'll have for another 2 weeks or so.  I just noticed, too, that my appetite, which was voracious postpartum, just died down drastically as of yesterday.  I wonder if my milk is pretty much done regulating... seems early for that, though.

My milk regulated so much faster this time.  I think it's because this is #3 and I was nursing my DD1 until just a few months ago.  It's like my body is being super effecient and knew just what to do.

I'm almost 5 weeks out and still bleeding every day :(   I haven't even thought about sex.  I wont, not until Im done bleeding for a while...

Speaking of dtd, how long should you wait if you had a minor tear?  My mw confirmed it was fused at my one week visit, but how long until healed and no risk of opening again?  I'm 3w3d.

With a minor tear, I think if you have no pain, you're fine. I had a tear that didn't quite require stitches this time, and it felt fine by about 2 weeks out. i've felt like I probably dtd since about 2.5-3 weeks. Last time, even with a nearly 4th degree tear, we dtd at 5 wks. (But before that, with a 2nd degree episiotomy, it was 8 wks before I could even consider it, amd it hurt badly for 6 months.) So IME, its really up to how you feel.

I had a minor (very minor imo) tear this time and we just dtd last night at almost 4w without issue.  I agree with Meesh, if you're feeling good it's probably fine.  I am still bleeding a tiny bit, but that doesn't stop us.

I would say that it's when my breasts start to feel empty when I'm done nursing and are no longer rock hard all the time.  It took months and months after I had #1, I was engorged forever.  Then it regulated faster with #2 and really fast this time, like 10 days or so.  Now my breasts feel soft and sort of normal most of the time (so long as she nurses ever hour or two). 

Before my milk regulates I could pump and easily get an extra 12-14oz.  Now when I pump I get 3-4oz, but then Coralie has to really struggle to get enough.

Well, another bonus of a midwife is the willingness to to offer and try new methodology. At my 6 week visit, she said she'd read an article about how having the woman insert the speculum herself increased patient satisfaction/comfort, so she offered to let me and I did and it really did make it more comfortable. Everything's all healed up!
