Cradle Cap in Toddler

My 2.5 year old son has cradle cap still! Not terrible, but still some scaly patches on his scalp that look kind of nasty.

I've heard that nutritional deficiencies can possibly cause this. Which ones? What can I give my son so this cradle cap will resolve?

This is my same son that has had mild eczema, but we went mostly gluten free and dairy free (I am totally gluten free and dairy free, so my kids generally are getting gluten free and dairy free by default aside from their breakfasts) and his eczema seems to have gone away.

Its possible that going gluten light has helped with his cradle cap, because when I just looked at his scalp now it looks much better than it used to.

We're on a mostly traditional foods diet, cut out refined sugars, chemicals, etc...

Biotin is what I used for DS when I worked with a naturopath. DS had eczema too, and it seemed to help his cradle cap. I'm not sure what the dosage should be for a 2.5 year old, but the powder from the capsule can be stirred into food, I usually used applesauce.

My ds2 had eczema and horrible cradle cap as a baby until I went COMPLETELY gluten, dairy, and finally corn free.  If you noticed an improvement in the eczema from mostly eliminating gluten and dairy I would try getting really strict to see if that clears it up.  It could take 3 weeks or so.

GL!
