Hi everybody.
I just have a question about the placenta birth. I am not quite sure, I guess I did not educate myself enough about the afterbirth, thinking with baby´s arrival everything is just fine.
After my second birth my placenta did not come on her own, it took a bit of pitocin and pulling and acupunture, and than it worket, around 80 min after birth.
This time it was even worse, two doses of pitocin, acupuncture, pulling and an awful lot of pushing into my belly while threatening that I´ll have to have surgery if I would not cooperate. And I tried to cooperate and tolerate the pushing, honestly thinking after an all natural delivery I should really be able to tolerate this little "pushing" thing, but my body did not let me, it was a bit weird, my hands kept pushing the mw away (apologizing the whole time) but I could not not do it!
In the end (after more threatening) I asked DH to hold my arms, which he did and than she pushed, dr pulled, I pushed and nearly two hours after delivery the placenta came.
It was really unpleasant and kind of interfered with the early bonding, because there was no way that I could hold a baby while someone kept pushing into my belly!
Is it really that dangerous to wait? I did not even try to bf DD in this situation, that should have helped, too, right?
Sorry if I am really dump, I was so afraid that I would have to have surgery!
