It's Beginning to Look A Lot like Bajingo Juice - TTC #1 in our 30's - December 2011 - Page 9

Hey ladies, just quickly checking in to wish everyone Happy Holidays! It's Christmas night here, and we're crashed out after a lovely summers day with family and lots of delicious strawberries and chocolate - yum!

Erica - I know I said it in our other group, but I'm just so happy for you! How're you feeling? I also wanted to let you know that after reading what you wrote about B vitamins I went and got myself a B Complex. I'm really looking forward to starting on it, so thank you!

PUH- I'm sorry to hear that :( I guess in some way it must have felt good to have a solid answer about what's been going on though. I'm really hoping that you get some good ideas of how you can unblock it and get back to TTC, but if not I'm excited to hear about your adoption choice. My husband and I want to do the same, we're just waiting on his NZ residency so we can start the process.

lilac- How's it all going? It seems like this cycle is going much more to plan for you since you've started those meds. Hooray!

AFM - According to FF I'm currently 3DPO, which is around where I thought it had happened going by CM but being my first proper charted cycle I'm still holding my breath a bit to see if it stays there and my temps don't do anything weird in the next couple days. This is now my first official 2WW and I'll admit I'm feeling a little daunted and overwhelmed. I guess this is the part where I try to remember I've done my part and if it's going to happen it will happen. Easier said that done as I know you're all aware!

I had a quick question for you all about my temps. Should I be concerned that they seem to be a bit on the low side? So far my lowest is at 35.80 C (96.62) and highest is 36.26 (97.27), with an average around just slightly above 36 (96.8/9). Does this seem low to anyone else? And if so, what do low temps usually mean? Thanks!

Hope you're all having a fantastic day!

Doularebekah, my temps run in that low range.  That was one of the things that made me wonder what was up and another person on MDC suggested I get my thyroid checked and now we are trying that.  Have you had your thyroid checked?

Rainbow: That's awesome! What a great story love.gif

rebekah: Oh good, I'm glad! Hopefully it helps with any nausea you may have. I made sure it was okay with my Dr to still take my vitamins, she said okay to my prenatal, fish oil, b6 and b12. But I had to ditch my vitamin C and coQ10 as well as raspberry leaf tea. I'm feeling okay! Tired, tired, tired!! And just random nauseousness. And today my boob is killing me! Do you have a link for you chart on FF? My average temps before ovulation were around 97.3 and after ovulation, about 98.2. Now after my BFP, my temp seems to be sticking around 98.4. Sometimes during the day I feel really hot, and I've checking it and it was 99! I'm agreeing with lilac, have you had your thyroid checked? It could be just ever so slightly off... but make all the difference in the world.

AFM: I'm doing okay... had some brown CM on Friday-Saturday and a little yesterday so my Dr said no zumba, sex, heavy lifting or anything till my appt on 1/9. I GUESS I'm okay with just lounding around Sheepish.gif Lol. Hope you all had a great holiday!

Hey ericaf, can I ask why you had to stop drinking Raspberry Leaf Tea?I'm just curious cuz I've been drinking lots of it and I know in some ways it's good but I didn't know if there are times or circumstances where you wouldn't want to drink it.

doularebekah, good luck with the 2WW. Doesn't time seem to slow down now that you're there?

AFM CD14 here. BD last 3 days in a row including this a.m. and hopefully will again tonight and tomorrow morning. We're hittin' it hard this month :) I have a general question for everyone, and I'm sorry for the TMI. Before DH and I started trying, I was very aware of EWCM each month. Sometimes it was just for a day and sometimes it was up to 3 days. But I've found that lots of BD now that we're TTC actually dries up my vajayjay. I've had less EWCM. I've been using Preseed Lubricant (since I've been seeing less EWCM) which I insert so that keeps me really wet after BD, and then after it goes away I'm more dry than usual from the friction of BD. When I check my cervical position I find more wet fluid up there so it seems like it's just a vaginal thing. But the more we do it the less I can accurately gauge my CM. Has anyone else dealt with this?

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!

I'm feeling encouraged by all the BFPs so far this month... currently on POD5 in my very first 2WW.  And yes, time does seem to REALLY slow down.  Usually between daily life and my work, time usually flies (really?  It's already been month since I last picked up my book???)  It probably doesn't help that I've had 5 days off this weekend, too. ;)  I'm of the impatient variety, so I'll probably start testing on POD8-9 or so, which would be Thurs/Fri.  We'll see how patient I can be. 2whistle.gif

dana: I was told (and I've read) that it's no good in 1st trimester especially if you've had a history of miscarriages. But that it's really good in late pregnancy I thinkkkk after 36 or 38 weeks. I forget the exact week. So I'm just going to follow my MW's advice for now! I did drink it during my 2WW until I got my BFP though.

nemrac: Try to hold off as best you can! I didn't get my BFP until 11DPO and it was faintttt. I HAVE heard of some ladies getting their BFP as early as 7-8DPO, but more than most don't get one until about 12DPO. It's sooooo hard to wait though. I only did mine at 11DPO because I had a 3 pack. Lol! FX for you! goodvibes.gif

Sitting here at work at 2am on a remarkably slow night trying to decide if I should be excited or anxious...  we have spotting!  Now I just have to wait and see if it's good spotting or bad spotting, lol.

ericaf- I'm armed with plenty of tests, so no worries about running out.  With this morning's spotting, I'll probably be waiting another 2-3 days to start.

Keeping my fingers and toes crossed (which makes handling needles quite interesting) and knocking on every piece of wood I can find that I have a New Years surprise waiting for me.

Seems like a very quiet holiday around here!  I hope everyone is enjoying some well deserved vacation!  Day 10 of EWCM for me (guess even though the thyroid meds seemed to have made EWCM show up early, it is still lasting a long time, will be interesting to see what next month will bring on the EWCM front).  FF is saying I am 3 DPO, but I still have EWCM and given my stretches of EWCM in the past, I think today will be my O day.  Just have to wait and see the temp tomorrow and the 2 days after that.

nemrac, I hope the spotting is a sign of good things to come!

Hello!  I'm new here.  I'm 33 and started TTC on Christmas (yes, 3 days ago and I'm already obsessed enough to join a forum).  I don't chart because my cycles are so crazy (instead, I'm using OPKs).  In the last 6 months, I've had cycles as short as 18 days and cycles as long as 77 days.  So no regularity there.  In fact, I wasn't even sure I was ovulating at all.  However, on the 26th, I took an OPK thinking I'd get my regular negative, and instead it was quite positive.  So I may have accidentally timed things right to have a shot.  I know it's unlikely, but I'm sort of hoping it happens, because I'll have no idea how to schedule or plan around my weird cycle.  Anyway, I don't want to become one of those ladies who drives her co-workers nuts with TMI, POAS-type information, so I thought it might be best if I sought out a community of like-minded ladies.  :)  Good luck to you all!

(P.S. I searched threads and looked everywhere on this site trying to find out how to make a signature.  It is a well-hidden secret apparently!)

Welcome cry884! I hope your "deposit" on Christmas works orngtongue.gif Once you post 10 times you can make a signature. It took me forever to figure that one out.

lilac & erica - thanks for the advice! I have actually wondered about my thyroid in the past, due to weight loss stuff and while I'm pretty sure my Dr did check my thyroid on my most recent blood test she never said anything about results so I am definitely going to ask her about it when I next go in. Here's my chart if you were still wanting to take a look, Erica - so glad to hear that you're doing well, and that you have a good excuse for vegging out! http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/2244a1

dana - it really does! I'm so thankful we've been on holiday visiting family and been fairly busy so it's taken my mind off things a bit!

nemrac - how are things going? I had a peek at your chart, looking pretty good! Fingers crossed for you :)

cry884 - Welcome! I'm glad you've found a group of like minded crazies here :) I can definitely see why charting wouldn't be ideal for you, how great that you managed to time it so well this cycle. Fingers crossed!

AFM - (cross posted from The ONE Thread8DPO (O on CD 16) here, and so long as FF doesn't move my cross hairs again it looks like we timed things ok (BD on CD's 13 & 16), it would have been good to get some more in but such is the nature of holidays and staying with family, etc! I also chart on TCOYF, so I use FF with all the data as is, and then on TCOYF I let it override stuff and then I can compare the two. TCOYF had me ovulate on CD18 but after today's temp it has taken that off and looks like it is adding another peak time...not sure what's going on there! Too be honest, I'm a little concerned about my temps though. They're on the low side in general, and yesterday it dipped below the coverline. Of course I'm just hoping this is an implantation dip! I did have lots of watery and EWCM (thank you grapefruit juice!), so I know the days we did BD we had a good shot. I guess now it's just time to wait and see.

doublerebekah- So far so good.  More spotting last night, combined with some EWCM which spooked me a little cause of course everything I then immediately started reading was saying how post-ovulation EWCM is usually a sign of impending period, but then I went and browsed through some chart galleries and saw others who had some before getting their BFPs.  As long as my temps stay up, I'm trying to stay calm. thumb.gif

cry884- Good Luck and Welcome from another with crazy cycles!  Before my IUD, mine would range from 14 to 300+ days.  For me, this is actually one of the main reasons why I did want to chart.  With my irregular cycles, I wasn't sure if I truly was ovulating and I wanted to know, dag nabbit!!  I knew that if I relied on OPKs, I would always be questioning if I actually did ovulate.

Okay, I never thought this day would come, but I heard the baby's heartbeat, and I'm ready to be moved to graduates! EDD 08/15/2012

Boots, that is so awesome!  I will move you over to graduates!

cry884, I hope your stay here is short.  I will be adding you to the list of active participants at the front of this thread.  I know how much I have appreciated this group.  Great ladies!

Nemrac, your chart is looking good!

doularebekah, looking at your chart again I would definitely talk with your doctor about thyroid issues.  Always good just to make sure that isn't an issue.

AFM, my temp finally jumped up and no EWCM so I think yesterday was O day.  FF still thinks it was a few days ago, but I am sure once I add a few more temps, it will change too.

Boots that is amazing beyond words!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't even imagine how cool it would be to hear your own baby's heartbeat. Congratulations clap.gif

Boots, horay! How fantastic for you!

cry884, I believe you have to post a certain number of times before you can have a signature. Maybe 20? Once you reach that you'll see where to edit on your profile page.

Ladies, I read an article about this week being the most common week to conceive a baby!

http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2011/12/26/it-s-high-time-for-conception-studies-show-peak-times-weather-for-sex.html

The most common birthday in the U.S. is September 16th. Hopefully all the BFPs will only increase in the next few weeks! I am going to be checking back here a lot in mid-January orngtongue.gif. The article includes a number of other compelling statistics about amorous activities. Very interesting.

AFM, a recent series of events has left me without my phone ovulation tracker and I never signed up for FF. So I am going off of my kind of woo-woo observation that I ovulate around the new moon and AF comes around the full moon. Also based on my other fertility signals I am probably 3-5 DPO. My boobs are starting to get tender. But they do get tender most months during my luteal phase and I have wrongly read that as a sign of pregnancy before. I am not going to think about it :). I'll enjoy a bit of champagne tomorrow night and hope for the best in the new year!

Happy holidays everyone, and have fun tomorrow!

Well, I'm out.  Temp drop and AF today.  Hopefully this short LP is just my body sorting itself out.

Hey Ladies,

Sorry I have been out of the loop, super busy with holidays and all that jazz. I stopped temping this month, but pretty sure I am about 6dpo. I had light pink creamy cm yesterday, now it is gone. Feeling pretty discouraged with ttc in general, will def have a few glasses of bubbly tomorrow. Interesting article teamviddy! Let's see if we can get some magic to happen. Mucho congrats to the recent bfps, it brings me hope! I like the idea of ringing in a new year, with hopefully a new sense of hope and possibility. Cheers!

Thanks, Nemrac, for the reply.  This may be a dumb question, but is charting more accurate than the OPKs?  I did the latter because I thought they were more accurate and that charting was more like an educated guess.  I'm just starting this journey, so I guess I have a lot to learn!  :)

cry884- Definitely not a dumb question.  I have been reading and absorbing and learning about all of this for well over a year now and finally got down to business last month.  The way I learned it, they each serve their purpose.  OPKs can give you a head's up that you're within 24-36 hours of ovulation.  But since they simply detect the LH surge and the LH surge doesn't guarantee ovulation WILL occur, they can't really tell you if you actually did ovulate after all.  That's where charting comes in.  Charting the cervical fluid/mucous can give you another head's up that ovulation is on its way so you can get to BDing and charting your temps can confirm that you DID ovulate!  I wasn't sure, with my super wacky cycles, if I even was ovulating, and I wanted to know!!  :D

I was also concerned that my working 12hr night shifts and flip flopping myself back to days on my days off, that I wouldn't be able to use temping.  This cycle showed me that I can.  So now I can move on into the next cycle knowing that temping does work for me, arm myself with OPKs, and work on getting my LP to get up into the double digits. :D
