Alternative to Boy Scouts/Cub Scouts - Cambridge, MA

This year my daughter has become involved in Girl Scouts. She's had a great time and I've been very impressed with the programs and leadership, especially at the summer camp in Waltham. I'm thinking ahead to getting my son, now in kindergarten, into a similar group. I'm wary of the Boy Scouts because of some of their beliefs/policies. Any alternatives you can suggest? I was hoping to find the Y Adventure Guides nearby but haven't had any luck online. We're open to going to the surrounding towns.

What about 4-H or Camp Fire USA?

Thanks---checked around online and non of the 4H or Campfire groups were nearby. Anyone's sons involved in a good group in the Cambridge area?

I understand the Boy Scout's national policies. In real life I've found that Scouts can be run very differently from town to town and state to state. If you are interested in Scouts I would encourage you (without your son) to go in sit in on some meetings during his Kindergarten year. That way you would know if it's a good fit for your family. Although you are encouraged to join your local, neighrtborhood Scouts can join any Scouts that you're willing to drive to.
