lifeguard, I hope you get more nights with sleep in them!
outings in the cold: I am with you on outings being harder when it's cold. I do transition straight from carseat to sling or carrier, though. We have the classic MEC fleece bunting (this one, but an older version) -- it works for both carseat and carrier very well. The only issue is when he falls asleep and then we come inside. In that case, we usually leave him in the bunting but unzip it all the way, and let him sleep like that so long as someone can watch over him. When he's on my front, I just unzip my jacket and wrap a scarf around my neck and upper chest. Once I start wearing him on my back I will pull out the Ergo coat I have from DS1. It isn't exactly flattering, but it isn't horrible.
dollyanna, ugh. Hope you feel better soon!
Leiahs, I hope Malcolm is ok and feeling better soon! Hooray for no fever.
not_telling, what wonderful, wonderful news!!!
tank, hugs about not being able to see your friend's band play. Question: When your sick DP is sitting playing video games, what happens if you hand him the baby and say, "Hey hon, take him for a few minutes, I have to use the bathroom and get some water,"?
livacreature, best of luck going back to work. It will be an adjustment, but you can do it.
theboysmama, I hope you and your house have recovered from the snow day!
Amy May, great to hear from you. It sounds like you are having a good visit. Hooray! And that's so great about providing breast milk for your mom. That's wonderful. I hope she is doing well. So sorry about your friend's baby. Oh my goodness how heartbreaking.
Karli, you sound like you are really enjoying Corbin! I hope all is going well for you.
Rosemary, that sounds frustrating -- the search for offending foods, and the 3yo! I will take the 3yo and trade you a 5yo who is currently exhibiting behaviour I didn't really expect until the teen years. And smiles!! How delightful!! DS2 is still a very serious baby. A few smiles, but very rarely. DS1 was the same, so I know the smiley phase will come soon, but I want soon to be now.
Katico, at least exasperating nearly 3's can make nice wrapping paper?
emmaegbert, best of luck with writing. How close are you to done?
pp weight: I lost a bunch early, and then slowed waaaay down. I started putting some back on, so I adjusted my eating habits and I'm now 2 lbs under pre-pg weight. Pre-pg was about 12 lbs above my ideal, so I would like to lose about 10 more lbs. I'm not expecting a lot over the holidays, though. I'm walking a lot, but also eating like mad to keep up with DS2, who is nursing like it's going out of style.
