I was looking at the birth announcements and there were several in Nov, but 5 days into Dec and we only have a couple! Bring on those babies!!!!
We were thinking Tuesday would be a good day for our schedules to have a baby. I'm going to try to talk baby-in-the-belly into it. I doubt he'll listen though, lol.

My mom was at both my births so far and the memories of having her there are awesome. She was pretty funny, because my births were very, very different from her experiences, and I think being there totally changed her outlook on birth. With DS, I had to go to the hospital for am IV because I had GBS... mom had told me "You aren't having this baby today" trying to prepare me for the long haul, and when we got back from the hospital she was having a beer, standing on my porch. She said "You don't look so happy now!" and when I replied "Mom, I'm EIGHT!" she was like "Oh! Oh! That's exciting! Oh, you're doing so good!" and broke down in tears, LOL! She says being there was like nothing she's ever experienced before, and has thanked me so many times for including her in the experience.
This time, mom will be here mostly for my big kids... and they might decide to go for a walk or over to her house if they're bored. My sister has just been diagnosed with hyperthyroid and is exhausted all the time... she has a daughter who turns 2 in a few days who has had a bad flu and now her sleep schedule is all messed up. My sister is under so much stress and having a really hard time coping, so between her and I mom has decided she's taking December off work! We're really, really lucky to have her.
Azadehhast, I think if you're worried about your mom not getting here in time, you should talk to her about it. She might be worrying too, or she might be thinking she'd like some visiting time before the baby comes but doesn't want to intrude or make you feel like a watched-pot or something. Maybe her arrival will be what it takes for your body to relax enough to go into labour... maybe it'll be good to just have a plan in place, even if it's that she's coming on the weekend or something. It'd be something else to look forward to, too.

Thanks Mummoth! We're talking tonight to make some plans. If my sister is doing better, maybe she'll come up tomorrow--I'm so excited to have her around and to have a distraction.

That must feel so good... well, not literally... but to be getting it done.
Sierra~ the kids noticed last week that the milk doesn't expire until the baby's due date (it didn't last though!) It's funny, I've always used the date on the milk carton that way too, but I don't think I've ever actually said anything about it to them.
Azadehhast~ good! I hope your sister is feeling better and plans work out. it looks like Thursday and Friday are supposed to be nice and clear like today, so if you haven't gone into labour, maybe you guys could go for some good walks to get baby moving.
AFM~ we went to a diaper service today and bought 2 dozen prefolds ($75. is that a decent deal? they're out of their regular rotation so not brand new but not really worn at all, either) I was surprised when DH actually had a few questions and asked about laundering... I think this guy is actually planning on helping me out! We also stopped by a hobby shop and bought a rocket for DS for Christmas. The only thing left is a few stocking stuffers, wrapping paper and tape (the latter two which I completely forgot until mom mentioned she bought some yesterday, eeek!)

I finished my Christmas shopping today!!! And while I was at Walmart I bought a bunch of Stouffers and other frozen things to put in the freezer for when the baby comes (and probably some before, lol) Obviously, I am still hoping to add a few more homemade items to the freezer, but desperate times call for desperate measures. I totally pulled the pregnant card for dinner too, and bought a rotisserie chicken. ![]()

I'm finished shopping for DF and close to being done for my older two. I'm waiting for DF's one last gift to be mailed, and hopefully it will arrive at a time when he is not here!
I'm all about the 6th too, though I doubt it will happen! The 6th is my little sister's 18th birthday and she and I have been guessing that all along...then one of my co-workers saw me doing inventory along with trashing a bunch of old equipment and replacing it with newer equipment and fixing some of it etc etc and said I was "nesting" and she thinks baby will come tomorrow...so unlikely though lol. I am jokingly guessing Jan 1st at 12:02am, but, in all honesty I am really thinking/fearing Christmas day! Eeek! I'm due around the 15th.
We also have tons of newborn diapers, but, I have skinny (if "big") babies and they grow very slowly; so it is worth it to us...NB dipes will easily fit for 4-6mos. I say that, and WATCH this one will be fat and grow quickly LOL. I kinda doubt it though, myself and all my siblings were long and thin and grew slowly...however my DH was chunky, so the possibility exists I suppose!

Sounds like everybody is getting their stuff finalized! I finished a bunch of gifts today and got them wrapped - have a stack waiting to go to UPS for shipment (tomorrow). Other than that, I need to sort out DH's gifts (I know what he's getting, it's just logistics of getting it, now), and do a little bit of foodcrafting for my FIL (but I can't really do that until a few days before xmas). Oh, and put the finishing touches on MIL's gift. Otherwise, everybody is done AND wrapped! =D
The one thing I really NEED to do, and for whatever reason keep avoiding doing, is pack my freakin hospital bag. I don't know why I'm resisting this so much. It just seems like the least fun thing in the world that I could possibly do and I don't want to do it! I mean, it's not like I'm due tomorrow... right??

I had the basics of my bag packed beforehand, but I packed all the clothes and the rest of the labor supplies after my water broke in early labor. It helped to take my mind off things. From water breaking, (contractions started right away, 3-4 minutes apart, and around 45 seconds long... though obviously not unbearable... ) until us setting foot out the door was almost three hours, but felt like closer to half an hour. It was nice to have the focus on something else.

I am so not ready for this little one to come. I really want to meet her but I feel very unprepared.
Im not due until the 20th and the earliest I have gone is 39w4d.
Im hoping that this LO stays put. Dh and I have still not agreed on a name and I still have alot of cleaning and prep to do for both baby and Christmas.
Work and the other 3 kids have been keeping me really busy as well as MW and other misc appointments.
Anyone else more than happy to stay pregnant or am I the only crazy one ? ![]()
Ok, really...does anyone else's baby insist on stretching out during contractions? I could deal with all these contractions, except baby stretching out during them really can be painful - not to mention it is all I can do not to pee myself! LOL
Ok rant over...I am going to love all those little movements when she comes out...which I feel like will be never haha

..................awww. I've been trying not to think about that. I was in pretty decent shape, before. =(

I'm kinda thinking this is what I'll want to do, too, and maybe that's why I'm so reluctant to cross it off the list... somewhere in the back of my mind, I think I'll want to have something I HAVE to do before we go, which I can focus on during that time. =)

I guess it's time to send out a warning text before I call, it would read "I'm not in labor, I'm calling you about something totally unrelated." I called my dad yesterday and my stepmom answered the phone and I heard him say in the background "Is she in labor?" I'm not even 37w until tomorrow. *Rolls eyes*

Good idea! Every time I call someone now they think I am in labor, lol!

Yes, it makes me not want to call anyone, well except DH. He's almost as bad, but I think for the first time ever he's even more impatient for me to have the baby than I am!
I'm really expecting that by Monday I will have a baby in arms, that would be about the time I had #2 and #3 and only a few days earlier than I had #1. While today is the first day I've thought, "Today would be a great day to have baby" I still find myself finding advantages to Thursday/Friday/Saturday. Of coarse, DH really would like me to go to his (informal, family friendly, small) company party on the 13th, so for that reason the earlier the better. I'm thinking as long as baby is a few days old if I don't feel up to going I'll have him take DD to it as a Daddy/daughter date. My mom has already offered to watch my boys since if I do go I wanted to not have to worry about them, baby, etc. Besides, they'd rather go to "Grandmommy's." I'd have no problem spending the evening snuggling baby in peace and quiet!
