Congrats aeterna and Ashlee!!

Yesterday was a busy day for this group!! ;)

Congratulations, Ashlee!  Welcome, Oliver!

I'm willing the baby not to come today.  We're naming her Pearl but not because it's Pearl Harbor Day today.  I know it's not a big deal, but I'd just prefer she have a different birthday.  Might have to reconsider my early pregnancy name choice of Clementine if she pops out today!  Still hoping for a 12/13 birthday...

Sierra-- the night I went into labor we did a big shopping expo- massive grocery shop, and like 3 other stores. By the time I got home, I felt like death. I managed to take a nice nap though, which was good because I went to bed at 9pm, had light cxns for an hour that were 6-9 minutes apart and then stopped... but I didn't manage to fall asleep until about 1130pm, and woke up with the water breaking at 1245am.

joy.gif Welcome babies! joy.gif

We're really getting rolling now, aren't we mamas? Finally the fulfillment of all these long months of waiting.

weird, I had perogies last night....

38w1d - no end in sight, now 55 lbs up and have an aquadoula in the house after thinking my home-waterbirth was impossible! both freezers are full and I"m being told to stop cooking/baking hehe

still need to get a few things done - 10th is lunar eclipse, full moon and a gma's b-day.... so I want to be 100% done with my to-do list by then

Wow, Czarena!  Send some of that cooking energy my way ...

My freezer has been here since the first week in November and still has NO meals in it.blush.gif

DP and I couldn't bring our aquadoula home from the 38 week visit on Tuesday because we hadn't cleared the crap out of the back of our van.  Apparently, cleaning out the van has become shoving everything into the back...

BUT:  We're working on the To-Do list:

We're making progress in shifting furniture around upstairs.  The full-sized mattress our 3 girls have been using is now in DD1's room instead of our computer/birth room -- Yay!  There is room for the aquadoula AND my birth ball.   Both twin beds are now in DD2's room.

Now we've just got to establish where everyone is sleeping again.  DD1 is alone on the full-sized mattress, DD2 is in one of the twin beds in her room, and DD3 is so confused she's back in our bed. DD1 & DD2 have been waking up around 3AM and migrating into our bed, too ...  I think we may remove that full-sized mattress altogether and encourage all three kiddos to sleep in the twin beds so they won't wake up alone and wander off.

Britax Parkway SGL & Sunshine Kids Santa Fe ordered from Amazon Sunday and arrived YESTERDAY!  (FedEx must be working extra hard to get ahead of the Christmas hustle!  The driver arrived in a Budget truck...  Also:  free shipping rocks!)

Our Moses basket arrived, too...  joy.gif 2yoDD immediately requested to climb inside.  This could get interesting.2whistle.gif

DP picked up the replacement screws and bungee cords needed to assemble and sidecar the crib.

I've been pecking away on my to do list too, but my DH seems to be avoiding his. Annoying. The good news is I only have 7 more shifts left of work. It sounds kind of daunting tho, to type that out. lol. I checked myself Monday and don't think I'm dilated any, but very soft.

My mw appt went fine yesterday. There were no changes from last week... still 4cm, 100% effaced and baby is at +1 station.

I'd like to get my research paper done and I don't know how. My professor is on her way to Rwanda this morning and she didn't send them back for our edits! Now I'm a little at a loss. I want to take care of it before our Friday deadline, but how? Ugh. It frustrates me when we're expected to adhere to a deadline but we don't get the same in return.

Hello all!

Olive Ann Patience was born at 8:14 yesterday by cesarean birth (more on that later).

I'm home and resting (yep!)

I can't believe I have a girl after 3 boys - I just assumed she was a boy!

Happy birthing vibes to everyone!

Im hoping that this LO stays put. Dh and I have still not agreed on a name and I still have alot of cleaning and prep to do for both baby and Christmas.

Work and the other 3 kids have been keeping me really busy as well as MW and other misc appointments.

Anyone else more than happy to stay pregnant or am I the only crazy one ? wink1.gif

I feel the same way.  I am really uncomfortable but I know things will only get harder when she is actually here.  Other than packing for the hospital, there isn't anything I really need to prepare for the baby (I guess?).  I do have many lose ends in other areas to tie up, though.  I'd like to take care of things like wrapping presents, too.  Not sure if that MIGHT be easier with her "out," though, since at least I could bend down easily.

But yeah, taking it one day at a time and not expecting anything.  My dd is much later than most of the December moms, though, so I am sure I will be much more anxious as it gets closer.

The earliest I've gone is 38 weeks exactly and that will be this Sunday.  Not expecting a repeat of that!

I feel unprepared too. But I would be thrilled if this little guy came this weekend!

She opted to accompany me since it looked like I was progressing REALLY quickly, so we went over to the hospital, bypassed registration and went straight to a delivery room. It was about 11:30am, at this point.

That is AWESOME!  The timing was perfect all around.  So happy for you!

Any chance your school has a writing lab?  Then they could edit for you!  Also, did you you check out the scoring rubric?  I always have students use it to grade their own work . . .not that they all do.

We do have a writing lab, but 1.) it's all booked up. 2.) the editing she wants us to do are the things that SHE wants us to edit. I have had some friends (who are/were writing lab workers) go over it. It's now just the nitty gritty little stuff that she wants us to fix. But we can't until she sends it to us!

So, I've been having fairly regular, very gentle contractions all night that are continuing still. They're coming maybe every 10 minutes or so, and they're really just squeezes, not uncomfortable at all, but pretty regular. Baby is quite low and pressing on my cervix. Hey, maybe something will happen! At least my body is getting warmed up actually to give birth some day, and I can be glad that I won't be pregnant until the end of time. :D

Of course, the timing is just fantastic, because we learned this morning that we have to go deal with some legal issues tomorrow morning. I honestly can't decide if I want baby to wait or come NOW (ok, yes, I can decide....baby, come out!).

Also, my (not so) lovely in-laws have decided they are coming for Christmas, AND they're coming to see the baby after it's born. Ugh. I am just deciding NOT to stress about this. They can do what they want, I'm cuddling my baby in my bed.

Well, when my students are going through major things, I always give them an extension. You probably just want to be done, though, and not have this hanging over your head.  I also give them the advice that it's just a grade.  I teach many adults/people with families who have LIVES going on, so it's all about balance.  It's better to get your degree, do the best you can under the circumstances, and then move on.  Some people are perfectionists and give up-- no good!

Regardless . . .I'm guessing she will be grading your papers fast, so you will likely not have much to change anyway!

Yes.. I mostly just want to be done, lol. My EDD is Sunday, and I don't want to have to worry about it anymore!

This paper is suppose to be submitted to a research journal as part of our requirements, so it's been non-stop writing and editing for weeks now.

Obviously, she does know that I could have my baby any day now, and I would likely be able to get an extension if I needed to. Just trying to accept that there is nothing I can do from here until we get our paper back to write our final draft from.

I've heard a lot of prof. say that it's just a grade though.. but it's not for me. My GPA and contributions really matter. I have a scholarship to keep and plan to go to grad school after my undergrad. I don't want to just get my degree and move on. This is what I want to do! smile.gif
