What are your thoughts?

I want more than anything to home birth my next baby... But here is my history and you tell me what you think. 

2002 vaginal birth 18 days late induced, no pain meds

2004 twins 38 weeks and terrified of having an unplanned section or worse, delivering one each way. So 38w2d first C

2005 Wanted a VBAC, OB dropped care at 35 weeks. At 42 weeks no labor signs and no care for the last 7 weeks. I went crawling back for a repeat C

2007 Repeat C, 39w, no fight left in me.

2009 Repeat C. I was a gestational surrogate, so there were more people to consider than just my family. 

None of my c-sections were "medically necessary", but I do tend to go post term.

I have had 4 c-sections and one minor uterine surgery. 

It has also been almost three years since my last delivery.

I have never had an OB say anything about my uterus looking thinned out or anything. He actually commented during the last section that if I hadn't told him how many, he would not have know. So, I must not have a lot of scar tissue build up. 

Anyway, I know I am rambling... I am not even pregnant yet!! We are planning on it next year... I would just like some thoughts from some peers on this matter! Thanks!

I feel for you in your situation.  It is hard for a mom to decide what to do in a birth situation, let alone a mom w/ 1 vb and four cs.  There are so few studies of vbamc, let alone hbamc w/ one vaginal birth. 

For me it would depend on how much I hated the hospital, how many children I wanted to have and what my options were.  When I first wanted to vbac, it was bc I wanted to have a large family.    I'm old now, so it's not practical for me to think, "Well, I could have 5 more babies left in me.", ya know. 

I would not feel comfortable hbamc'ing at home bc I live far from a hospital, but I'm not saying don't do it.  Do you live in an area w/ an experienced cp will support you??
