Treating a yeast infection while TTC ?'s

I believe I have a yeast infection. I get them quiet often. Actually anytime we dtd a lot. I don't want to do an over the counter because I am scared it will impair my ability to conceive. I am most fertile right now. I should ovulate within the next 24-48 hours. I have been using plain yogurt internally for about 30 minutes twice a day since yesterday and it is really helping but I just want to make sure this is not going to make it harder to make my baby. I know that a YI can sometimes stall the process anyways. Is it ok to use any types of treatments right now or should I grit and bear it until after O day?

If you have an infection, you really shouldn't be DTD anyway because you and your DH may just keep reinfecting each other. The best thing to do is treat it to get rid of it completely, then focus on prevention, maybe using probiotics, etc. Your DH should also consider the same kind of treatment and prevention protocol so that you don't find yourself here again! I agree with the last poster.  I think you should get an over-the-counter and get rid of it now and not DTD until it's cleared up.  Otherwise you could give it to your DH and then he will be infected and can give it back to you.  I had my very first yeast infection when I got a BFP this last time and I was so scared to try an over the counter treatment during pregnancy, but my dr. said I could use Monistat.  My plan was to try and naturally get rid of it first (the yogurt internally helped tremendously, and also eating plain yogurt everyday - I sweetened mine with honey, and sleeping without underwear), and I was going to try Monistat in the second trimester if it still wasn't gone. (by the way, the infection went away when I had the m/c so it must have been pregnancy-related.)

I know, probably not what you wanted to hear to try and wait to DTD unless the yeast infection is gone!  Good luck with TTC!
