Anything to stop eczema itching?

is there anything I can use topically (or take myself that can help via BM ) to relieve some of the itch on DDs face for her eczema (besides steroids)? Her wanting to scratch (moving her head back and forth) is keeping me up, on and off, most of the night (I have her in a woombie so she doesnt actually scratch her face).

My dd1 has eczema... we found that lukewarm baths with oatmeal helped a lot (just oatmeal in a sock, soaking in the water and then smeared over her skin... it's REALLY gooey), as did topical Aloe gel or Aveeno lotion during the day and a heavier salve at night (the salve was goopier and not something I wanted her to get into her mouth so it was mostly a "sleeping baby" treatment).  I think it was called something like Ed's Healing Salve?  It had beeswax and calendula in it.

In general we found early winter to be tough since rooms are drier/colder so we made sure to have a humidifier running in our house and kept the heat relatively low.  Have you checked your diet for possible allergens?  My dd1 would flare if I ate too much wheat or egg and we eventually learned that she has celiac disease (she was three when she was diagnosed) so the eczema may have been an early warning sign.  Maybe add some cod liver oil, flax, hemp and/or vitamin D to your diet, or if she is old enough perhaps give your dd a daily dose of "good oils" directly?

Shea Butter-and only Shea Butter- has been my son's best friend. Thankfully, he has only had one eczema patch, on the inside of his elbow, when he was around 9 months old.  We have used shea butter as a moisturizer since he was a newborn, and no other products besides organic shampoo/body wash.  I know it is devastating to feel helpless about skin issues, and we tend to over-treat and mis-treat, not knowing if the skin needs to dry out or be more moist.  I tried to resist the urge to use multiple products, and instead simplified by cutting out the shampoo/body wash for a few weeks and only using the shea butter to moisturize.  His eczema patch lasted about a month and a half, and disappeared.  The genius Doctor we saw for a well-baby check offered steroid cream immediately, and suggested vaseline when I declined...

Shea butter has worked wonders for any and all rashes on my son too.  Best wishes~
