Sore Breasts While Nursing?

Hi ladies 

I am not currently TTC but I do have a question that I have wondered for a while. Maybe some mamas with experience might know the answer or like to share their experiences. 

When you're breastfeeding and become pregnant again do your breasts change right away like they do when you're not breastfeeding and become pregnant? I know they eventually dry up but does nursing feel different all the sudden? I know when I was pregnant I didn't like DH to pay any attention to my breast because they hurt so much. How does that work if you have a baby to nurse? thanks

With my first (the only time I was ever pregnant and not nursing lol), my breasts were really sore and tender.  In subsequent pregnancies, while nursing, the immediate changes were that I started getting a strong creepy-crawly feeling while nursing, and sometimes would get really really sore nipples (almost felt like we had thrush), but have never had the same soreness as I did the first time.  HTH!

I have conceived twice while nursing so far. Each time my nipples became so sensitive that nursing was excruciating and at the same time annoying. Both times the sensitivity started within days of conception. That sensitivity was one of my many clues that I had conceived. I tested positive for each pregnancy before my period was due.

Nursing just got more painful and annoying as time wore on. I weaned my oldest when I was somewhere around six months pregnant. I couldn't take it anymore. We resumed nursing for about a year after the baby was born. I weaned my second child right around when I got pregnant with my third. We still night nursed here and there, but I knew from experience that I didn't want to nurse through pregnancy or tandem nurse again.
