My husband has been a godsend and made some really amazing meals as of late.  Last night he made chicken pot pie (from scratch!) with organic chicken, potatoes, carrots, and peas.  This dish is definitely high in fat, but considering I'm 11 weeks and  have lost weight, I figure my body should get all that it can right now.  The only problem for me has been evening sickness.  I feel pretty good all day and then, like clockwork, between the hours of 6 and 11pm I start throwing up like a crazy person.  All I can seem to keep down lately is toast with butter.  Even though this has been going on for weeks, I still haven't been able to figure out why my m/s strikes at night!

Think my issue was caused by cantaloupe, which is a major bummer because it was tasting so good to me. Serves me right for not eating local I guess ...


justchanti, I am loving chicken pot pie right now! I buy mine at Costco though. You're so lucky to have your husband making it from scratch for you!

Here's a really easy semi-homemade one, moremadder:


2 pie crusts (I use Trader Joe's)
1 can of cream of mushroom soup (or cream of whatever you like best soup)
1 cup of milk
dash of pepper (already enough salt in the soup)
2 cloves of garlic and 1 onion, cooked up on the frying pan ahead of time.
some frozen peas, frozen corn, frozen carrots... you decide!
a grocery store rotisserie chicken or whatever chicken you want to use/
spices you like... I use herbs d'provence. Italian herbs or whatever herb blend you like best would work well too.

Mix all the stuff in a bowl, and then pour it into the pie dough. 
Bake at 400 F until it is done. (brown on outside, warm on inside).


Couldn't be easier!

Thanks for the recipe! Using rotisserie chicken is a good idea. I have basically given up on cooking for the past several weeks, but I think (fingers crossed) my m/s is finally easing up a little. I will have to give this a whirl.
