Anyone else still pregnant?

I'm 41+6 today, and getting very anxious. Anyone else still with me, or does the cheese stand alone?

Oh Vyky, that's hard!  Is there any inducing pressure?  I had Clara at 41w5 days, and she did not look at all overdue.  Still had a little vernix, and placenta was healthy and just fine.  Black cohosh may be responsible for pushing my body into regular contraction mode, but I could already feel my body starting up.  Any signs for you?

::BIG HUGS::   According to my u/s, I went to 41+5, so I totally understand what you're going through.  I'm sending some quick and easy birthing vibes in your direction...  goodvibes.gif

I'm so sorry Vyky!  I went to 40w5d and thought I was the last one, which caused a day of crying.  It also got me motivated to try some natural inducers. I pumped for an hour (alternating sides every 5 minutes) and took a dropper full of black cohosh every 10-15 minutes.  I got regular contractions every 5 minutes while pumping, watery discharge afterward, and then weak contractions every 15 minutes that turned into my crazy 24 hour labor.  Could be worth a try (minus the 24 hours of labor of course!).

I've been doing cohosh, sex, nipple stim, verbena tea, walking, flower essences, talking to the baby, swimming. Everything. I guess she is just not ready.

My mw tried to do a sweep on sunday and my internal os is still closed, and I'm 2-3 on the outside. Baby is at +2, which sounds awesome, but because my cervix is still posterior, her head is actually in front of it, not on top of it. I've been having regular, uncomfortable contractions for 2-3 weeks now, but nothing progressive.

My MW is fudging my dates a little, and she bought me another week until we have to consult with an OB. I am just REALLY hoping to not go to 43 weeks.

She sent me home today with the verbena tincture to do in the nasty cocktail with OJ and almond butter. yuck.

Well, this sounds very familiar.  The same thing was going on with me.  I wonder if gestational length has anything to do with the cervical position.  My cervix continued to be stubborn my entire labor and had to be manually moved.  I know a few others on here had similar issues and ended up having their water broken to fix the problem.  I bet yours will figure it out all on its own!

Jaimee, I was just reading your birth story and noticed how similarly things are starting to play out.

I'm thinking I need to spend more time at the pool to try and get baby's head UP for a bit so that cervix canmove. Belly lifts with a rebozo, too.

Maybe try the stair climbing (2 at a time to get the lunge) and knee to chest exercises, too.  Plus, avoid laboring in the all fours position- that's apparently what kept reversing my progress.  Side laying is what improved things.

Thanks for the tips. I will keep that in mind for sure!

In addition to the knee to chest exercise my midwife had me stand while my husband sat in front of me and gently pushed up on my belly.  So he would run his hands from the bottom to the top to try and get baby to get in as better position. Does that make any sense?

yep, did all that here! i'm one of those that ended up with AROM, though. his head would not descend enough without it. he was born 14 minutes later.
