What is "genderqueer"?
I understand transgender (or think I do). It's when someone knows themself to be different from what their body (originally) presents. For example, a little girl who happens to have the body of a boy, or a man who was a natal female.
But, in reading about transgender issues, I have come across the term genderqueer, and I realized that I have no real idea what this is.
Can anyone please inform me? Or point me in the direction of a well-balanced website with this (and other) terms explained? How is this different from "intersexed"? I think I have an idea on that, but realize that I'm still not as informed as I'd like to be.
(I came to MDC for this question because I trust the posters here. I'm sure there are lots of websites that would come up if I searched for the term, and I'm sure a lot of those have some sort of shame-based agenda. I'd like to avoid that.)
Thank you very much.
