Going to be in New Orleans for 3 days, and in surrounding areas for 3 days (somewhere on the Tickfaw ETA: In Springfield- about 45 mns out of Baton Rouge) Dec 17-23

I'm planning to go to:
the Audubon Zoo, Insectarium, and Aquarium
The New Orleans School of Cooking
Preservation Hall

Thinking about the Children's Museum, but not sure if there will be enough stuff for younger kids (DS is not quite 3). Anyone know if this is a good bet or not?

What other things should we not miss?

We will be traveling with a couple of Vegans as well- anyone have tips on good vegan restaurants?

This is a description of the house in New Orleans:

"Fabulous Uptown Location- Located in a safe, residential uptown area, we’re close to several restaurants and just blocks away from the world famous St Charles Ave streetcar"

You can take the street car to both the zoo and the french quarter..and if your kids are like mine that will be the best part.

City park has a huge playground, and a tiny amusement park open on the weekends, and is in the same area as the art museum if you get stuck on a rainy day (free on Wednesdays) There is also the WW2 museum if that is any ones style, and the river boat ride, and the street performers at Jackson square are always a huge hit.

Sorry I can't help with the food...and we haven't done the children museum yet.

peace
