Sorry to hear of your rollercoaster.  Crazy waiting bit.  Here is to what Thursday's news will bring.

Thinking of you!

Hi all,

Well, so far it looks like I am about 3 weeks pregnant. The blood test showed 8.1 HCG levels. The receptionist on the phone said that I may not even need to come back in on Thursday for another test but then I looked online and the HCG level does seem very low.... or maybe it is normal? I am starting to feel happy though..... still no period, and now I am 2 days late!

That's great news Hadley! So do you think you'll go back in for the second test? I know testing is expensive, but it's so good to have something concrete to go by rather than relying on possibly inconsistent hpt's. I had the second test, but the numbers were still so low that I wish I'd been sent for the third they talked about as I would have had answers so much quicker!

In saying that, I'm so excited for you! You totally should feel happy :)

Thanks guys! But am I right in thinking that 8.1 is pretty low (it's OK, I'm prepared for it).... ? Whenever I look for guidelines the range is SO huge that it's hard to get a sense of what I should be expecting.... My doctor is out today so the person I talked to was a receptionist rather than a medical person... so her confidence didn't soothe me as much as it might.

This is really good news!  Esp. with no AF- things are going in the right direction!  I do understand having reservations, though.  Hugs to you!

Hopefully tomorrow will be more fruitful in discussions with medical people!

I hope so! Is there anything specific I should ask?

Still no period, which seems like a good sign... and no period symptoms... I'm hopeful !

Well, cramping and AF showed up today - right after I took an FRER (negative) and an Internet strip test (faintly positive). So I guess it was a chemical after all..... I am feeling OK, after taking a long walk and doing a little crying. Let this be a lesson to all new TTCers! No matter what symptoms you have right away, DO NOT TEST EARLY!!! Man, I learned my lesson. Next time, I swear, I'm not testing until 3 days after a missed period.

Thanks all for listening during this rollercoaster. Here's to better luck next month...... duh.gif

hug.gif  I'm so sorry, hadley.  For your loss, and for the difficult, emotional rollercoaster that you had to deal with.  Healing and peace to you and your DP.

Sorry to hear that hadley.  I will agree though that waiting until at least my missed period or one day after my usual LP has saved me from using the POAS I have.  Hopefully another month will bring a reason to use one!

So sorry hadley. :(

I'm so sorry Hadley, it's a rough place to be in. I totally agree about the testing, a hard way to learn but I will definitely not being testing early from now on, either!

Are you on vacation now? I hope you get to have a relaxing couple of weeks over the holidays!
