Ovarian cyst with internal debris and echo. Please help! :(

I've had a cyst on my left ovary for about 1 1/2 yrs now. It just keeps on getting bigger. My cysts measured at 4.4 cms about a week ago. My doctor recommends that I have the surgery done. Since I'm 26 I was told that I am too young to get this procedure done. I have a large cyst containing internal debris and it also has an echo. I don't understand any of this. I'm scheduled for my surgery on Dec 21st, but I am terrified and need some advice. Please help! :(

Hello, welcome to MDC. 

I am sorry you're dealing with this, and I wish you healing. I don't have personal experience with this, and I am not a medical doctor. But I want to offer a couple things I do know. 

Surgery will remove the cysts (and may very well help you a lot), but it won't change what is causing the cysts to grow. We all grow ovarian cysts - eggs begin as cysts on our ovaries. There is an imbalance in your estrogen levels that is causing the overgrowth. So, post surgery, can you look into that? Otherwise the issue is likely to return. 

I feel like acupuncture could really help you. Also, be careful about animal products. I would try eliminating dairy in particular. We are not designed to consume other mammal's milk, and it affects our reproductive organs specifically (both men and women). 

Also I want to ease your mind. I know many people who have had the surgery and have been fine. Had seubsequent kids, pregnancies. You will be okay.
