Gender Guess Thread

Thread Starter

Since I'm bored today I thought I'd start a gender thread.  If you have a guess as to what you're having, post here!  As we find out (whether through ultrasound or birth), I can update it with whether we guessed right or not.  If you change your mind, post again and I'll update it for you.

I'm praying for pink!

Pink.

blue... with an occasional inkling of pink (i think this is because i like to be balanced... i have 3 boys and 2 girls.. lol brady bunch anyone?)

Well, this gender predictor (http://www.thelaboroflove.com/chart/pred.html) is giving me pink. :) I honestly don't have an inkling either way at the moment, so maybe we should have a green option?

That one says girl for me too! I was also going to suggest a "thinking green" category. smile.gif

My guess is girl, but some days I think it is a boy...we will be finding out, so we will see what happens :) I did get my BFP at 8 dpo, clear line, and it was darker than the control on FRER by 11 DPO, so Dh is joking that is is twins...we will see in a couple of weeks if that is the case :D

Chinese calendar says pink.  But I feel blue.  Would be beyond happy either way.

Cerisernee, do twins run in your family?  That would be exciting.

All of hte gender predictors I've done thus far have also said girl...

I thought about doing a yellow option, but didn't do it just because "I don't know" doesn't seem like a guess, haha!  But I can put one in for everyone who doesn't have any clear guesses or doesn't want to guess.

I have this feeling it's blue.

The predictor sallyrae posted says boy, but I have no idea! I don't want to get stuck on the idea of a boy or a girl and then have the opposite gender at birth so I'm actually trying not to have any "mamma intuition" on the subject.

I think I only make boys.  That predictor says boy too.  I'd be thrilled to add a girl to the family though!

That predictor was opposite for my last 3 babies :)

He Chinese calendar was right for me last time but only when my age was adjusted to traditional Chinese lunar age. The one in the link looks like it does it automatically. Says girl for me.

Guessing girl, but I would be happy with either.  (If it's a boy we don't need to buy ANY clothes!)

I already had a girl dream and all my other pregnancy dreams were right for my first two kids.  I guess it's possible to go three for three.  So, thinking pink for me, but I would be happy with either.

We are expecting (and secretly praying for) a girl!

dh and I say boy, for absolutely no good reason at all. I have zero intuition about it at this point. I want to be surprised at the birth, but dh does not, so we'll see what happens!

Also, does anyone else wonder if there used to be more gender-neutral baby clothes before the advent of gender identification via ultrasound? Now, it's like everyone expects you to know what you're having. But what about when most people were still surprised? Did they just buy girl and boy clothes? Or did they actually have more clothes that would have worked for either?

I think the newborn clothes at least were more gender neutral.  And we have  DH's mobile from when he was a baby (born in 1978).  You can definitely tell just by looking at it that it pre-dates ultrasounds for gender.  It's painted wood and transportation themed - there's a little hot air balloon, an airplane, etc.  Each one has both a little bit of pink and a little bit of blue.  You'd never see that today!  Everything is Boy, Girl or Green if you don't know what you're having.
