triple07, knitting intimidates you!? crocheting! now thats intimidating, i have no idea how you know where your "stitches" are...or how you keep everything organized without needles to keep everything in place! lol

And here's another finished diaper bag! This is my first time making anything like this. I usually do clothes or quilts or stuffed animals. I've never attempted a bag or worked with vinyl before. It wasn't as hard as I thought it might be, though. I really like the way it turned out.

I put those little animals in the pockets just so they'd be easier to see. They're part of a mobile I'm making for the baby. I'll put pictures up of that once I get it finished. I have all of the animals sewn, I just need to bend the wire to hold them into place.

I also made a snuggler for the baby. If s/he likes it, I'll make a second one so I have more than one just in case one gets too dirty. Not like babies ever spit up or pee or anything! Ignore the blue lines on the white fleece part. That's from the fabric marker I was using to mark the darts. It'll come out when I wash it, I just haven't done that yet. I thought about putting one of my cats in there for scale, but then I decided I didn't really want to be scratched all that much today. haha.

Great job both of you on the diaper bags!  I love them. :)

sjdragonfly - where did you get the pattern for the snuggler?  I was thinking of trying something like that.

Wow! Both of you did such a great job! Very cute smile.gif and I love the animals for the mobile, too.

Yes, do you have a pattern for the snuggler? I have crocheted 2 of them but that takes sooooo long and would love a couple options like that, too.

sjdragonfly!! that is the most awesome diaper bag ever and it doesn't help that you have all the animals in it - they are SO cute. my sewing machine is on the blink...but you may have gotten my creative juices flowing enough to get me to fix it. that fabric is way cool too! i'm a sucker for tree's and birds.

Thanks! I had so much fun making that stuff even though the diaper bag took two entire weekend days!

The snuggled pattern is from a book I have called Simple Sewing For Baby. I just did a quick google search and the pattern is online! You ladies can get it here: http://blog.craftzine.com/archive/2011/03/best_of_craft_pattern_snuggler.html

The snuggler didnt take very long to make, either and was pretty simple really. If any of you make one I want to see pictures!

sjdragonfly--I LOVE the bag and snuggler! Great job!

triple07--your bag is great too. So cheerful and colorful.

Just wanted to say thank you for the link to the pattern SJ! I have made 2 snugglers (for presents) and plan on making a couple for this little babe, too. I found a very pretty green batik fabric to make one in and the blue/green one from this pictures Im going to make for babe, too.

And this is the set I crocheted for a friend's baby shower in June, along with the pink snuggler. Also making her a diaper bag.

I love the snugglers you made! Such nice fabric colors, too. I only made the one with fleece, but I think I should make a second one with a lighter fabric like flannel or something so it's not too heavy to use in August. It gets cool here quickly, though so I could probably use the warm one by September if the baby likes it.

I love the cute little crocheted stuff you made! So adorable. I especially like the variegated yarn.

Yeah I chose flannel over fleece here because we are in El Paso, TX (and the gift recipients are in southern new mexico & san antonio) so especially for these summer months the cotton flannel will be cooler.

I was going to use that particular yarn to make something for my mom as it was a breast cancer yarn but I loved it for my friends gifts. I ::heart:: varigated yarn :)

I made a bunch more stuff this weekend! Well, actually I finished the quilt a few weeks ago, but I hadn't washed the blue fabric marker lines from it until today.

Thanks! It just takes a lot of practice. I have lots of screw ups on all of these things, but you just can't see them in the photos. ;) I taught myself how to sew a few years ago. I've mostly learned from following tutorials and guides online. That and making lots of mistakes and having to resew things a bunch because I keep messing it up. haha

I just finished this! its all leftover fabric that i've had hanging around for ages! somehow i happened to have everything that i needed - which is way cool seeing as i live nine hours from a fabric store!! it has six pockets inside, one long one on the outside front and an elasticized one on the outside, side. i feel silly proud of myself. i haven't sewed anything forever and i've never ever made a bag. so i'm pretty stoked. its bigger then i thought it would be, but thats better then being smaller. i got the pattern online for free (hadn't done that before either), it was kind of neat printing it off and taping the pattern together, i always wondered how that worked.

What a beautiful bag! I love the colors.

What an adorable bag!!! And awesome that you were able to make it with leftover fabric! I was a little confused printing out the pattern for that snuggler and piecing it together too lol, but it turned out awesome!

Finally starting to get in 'girl' mode after having a little boy.  Kind of fun!  Chenille burp cloths, a minky blanket, and some newborn kimonos.
