What to eat before induction?

I'm going in for my induction Wednesday morning (if I make it that far!) and my doctor told me I'm fine to breakfast. I ate hours before labor with my first son and by the time I had him I was freaking ravenous!!! Ugh. Anyway, I'll be eating close to an hour before going in. Any ideas on what might be good to have? Something that will stick with me for a bit and hopefully not make me feel like crud? I was just thinking some scrambled eggs and some ww toast, but, I'm open to better suggestions! Non-breakfast foods welcome!

My head is elsewhere right now and I'm not feeling very creative, otherwise I'd have some good ideas already! lol.gif

Are you craving anything in particular lately? I'd try to eat something high in protein and fiber to keep you full for as long as possible. Maybe some french toast made from ww bread?

I'm craving Thai, but hubby and I are having that Tuesday night for our last date night smile.gif I'm counting on that to ummm... help clean me out some in the morning before I leave lol.gif Beyond that, I'll probably be so excited it'll be hard to eat let alone crave anything... but I don't want to be starving all day. Otherwise I'd probably just roll out of bed and head out!

Home made egg mcmuffin type sands. English muffin with turkey bacon or turkey or some kind of meat, a fried egg, and some cheese. Mmm

I know what I am having in the morning rofl

I would think of it as if you were getting ready to run a marathon.  Carb load and some good lean protiens.  Both will give you good healthy energy aswell as stick with you.  Good luck Wednesday!

I ate Thai food a couple hours after my MW visit, who said I was not even 1 cm dialated and no effacement. Started labor less than 12 hours later, so I totally attribute it to the food. The spicier the better!

I would recommend eating a small amount of protein and whole grains, and then bringing some snacks with you to the hospital (sneak them in if you have to) for later, so you don't feel like you have to eat all your food in the am. Good luck with your birth!
