preschooler homemade holiday gift question

My kids want to make some candy cane playdough (red and white twirled together, with some glitter and peppermint oil mixed in) to give to our neighborhood friends. I had originally thought we would give the dough out in glass jars, with fabric over the lids and cute ribbon, Martha Stewart etc. But! I would love something less expensive and more - reusable? - although obviously glass is highly reusable! - something less breakable and more portable. Any ideas for an inexpensive, cute, crafty (but not difficult for a 3 and 5 year old to help out with) way to give out handmade playdough? Thanks!

if you are giving playdough to young children i would not give glass jars. perhaps transparent airtight plastic containers?

maybe you could buy those inexpensive tupperwares (they come in packs, they're more lightweight, i think they can be thrown out but i reuse them) and the kids could decorate with stickers, glitter glue, etc.

I've seen some cute holiday tupperwares and tins at JoAnn fabrics, Target, Michaels, etc.  That would be cute!  And the tin would be reusable long after the playdoh is gone.  I have a bunch of cookie tins that I have art supplies in now that we got for Christmas.  It makes me smile to see them because the "good feelings" from the gift remain years later. :)

Thanks for the great ideas! I found some cheap tupperware with holiday themes already on them and stocked up on those.
