I have my birth plan to my OB and she was fine with everything except dropping the curtain if I were to have a C-section BUT she said she would set up a mirror which is more than they agreed to for DD. I really wish I could have spent more time on finding a midwife but since DD was born at 34+6, after the holidays I was frantic to get everything in place for little man. Now that I'm finally all ready I think it's best we just settle for what we've got to work with.
All that being said, I'm NOT giving up. This is my last baby and I'll never get my homebirth but I will fight for others to have theirs. I'm excited for this new path in my career. Again, thank you to all that have posted in support it's very encouraging that I'm not alone. I do want to share an event with all of you. http://www.facebook.com/events/267844953277435/
What OB did you go with? Were you seeing him before?
The situation in MD is awful. It just breaks my heart when I hear story after story of women that just want a natural uninterfered birth and can't find a provider to help them. I birthed a breech at home because there was no provider to 1. try an ECV or 2. allow me to deliver vaginally at the hospital. It wasn't my first choice it was just the only choice.
I sure do hope things change SOON!
