Almost 4 y/o ds has no intentions of sleeping on his own....

So ds has been in our bed since birth.  My dd's also were.  The girls wanted OUT by about 3.5.  thumb.gif  Don't get me wrong, I love sharing the bed,  but shouldn't he want to be in his own bed by now?  We have tried putting him in his bed exactley 3 times.   He loved the "big boy" bed at first, but when dp and I went into our bed he freaked, so I would go get him and put him in bed with us.  so that happened 2 times after that.  I guess I am just curious when did your ds's sleep in their own bed?  To be honest......I had a dream that he was still in our bed as a teen, and it creeped me out dizzy.gif  Is there a gentle approach to this?  I don't need to add anymore stress to him, he has enough with 2 older sisters.  aaahhhhh The funny thing is he goes to bed on his own in our bed....

I have a Madeline as well. orngbiggrin.gif My other DD is 5 and left to her devices, she would still be very happily in my bed. She is in my room currently snoring away but my bed is full with two younger children so she has been booted out and isn't thrilled about it. Some kids just need it longer, but I do promise that someday when he is ready, he will want his own bed. I did the whole bribing thing to get DD2 out. Most nights she actually does sleep either all night or most of the night with her sister. She got a present (very small) if she went to bed in her room, and then it switched to getting one if she slept all night there. When we moved DD1 to her own room umm, the first time, all it took was painting the room and then she was so excited to sleep there.

We did try the bribing thing, new bed, bed set..... but he's not into it.  My girls almost always end up in one or the others bed.  shoot I like having someone to sleep next to, but our bed is getting quite tight lol.gif

I came to this board wondering the same thing.  My ds is 5.5 and he seems to like the idea of sleeping in his own room, but the reality of it is not so popular.  His 3.5 yr old sister will leave the family bed sooner than he does.  I'm really not sure how we are going to handle this either.  I was hoping to find answers here :)
