Okay so before I completely freak out I wanted to see if all of you cervix-checking ladies could talk me down. I hope I'm posting this in the right place...
Â
So I wiped after going to the bathroom and I felt something funny so I went and got my mirror and when I looked I could SEE my cervix. Right there, at the opening of my vagina. Seriously just kind of hanging out there. (ETA: Not literally hanging out, it's still inside my vagina.) I almost had a freak out, but nothing feels wrong. It's not painful or even uncomfortable and I think it looks pretty normal, just kind of open a little and super squishy but that's normal during ovulation right? When I move from a squatting position it recedes.
Â
Some background info: This is the first time I have ever noticed this. I had my second baby a year ago and this is my second fertile cycle. I'm pretty sure I am ovulating. After the totally normal birth of my second baby, my midwife informed me that my uterus flipped to a retroverted position. She said that it is normal and the only thing I might notice is that certain sexual positions are no longer comfortable. She was right about that. Aside from those things I always thought I had kind of a shallow vagina but it was never this extreme!!

Is this extremely low cervix normal or should I call my midwife?

But it definitely sounds a little bit to low to me.
