I do love juniper though! and aelwyn! love lots of the celtic derived names - my dh has a thing about them and he doesnt like them!

however you are talking to the person who just found out their girls name fav pick was patented into a sweetener for soda!!! so angry!!!

i really do love juniper aelwyn!!! that gets my vote!

Yeah Princess Fiona is from Shrek, she was the princess that was actually an ogre and is now an ogre and married to Shrek, but she is really sweet. Not sure if there would be teasing about it or not.

Ok I need to know what your fav girls name that was patented into a sweetener for soda? all I can think of is Splenda, or some derivative of Xylitol.

Haha, honey I'm so confused...I don't understand this question at all!

You mean like

Nutrisweet

Aspartame

Saccharin

Stevia

Stuff like that?

I mean to me you are making her. You are the mother and if you have a strong inclination to name her Juniper I would for sure go for it!!! You may regret it if not. I bet the name would grow on him.

We were going to name my son Django but I thought it was kinda clowny especially with our last name and I got so much crap from people about it I went with another first name but Django is one of his middle names and sometimes I regret it....

Though I love his first name too.

And while I agree with most of the things said here, I disagree with this

I mean, I'm carrying this baby, and I carried the other 6 too but DH and I made them all together.  DH and I have very very different tastes in names too and we have to discuss for months before we can agree on one, especially a boys name.  But I could/would never just tell him, this is what we are naming the baby because I'm carrying it and you'll get over it.

I think your best bet is to tell DH and talk it out.  He may or may not agree but you have time to convince him or maybe even you "After birth queen spell" will work and that's cool too, I just don't agree with the above statement is all.

it was Zevia

it is now a sweetener derived from stevia - its a female derivitive of zevi which means little wolf or my wolf in hebrew

it was approved like 6-8 weeks ago and the patent went through

so aggravating

i told some one at work and now a bunch of them jokingly call the baby splenda

which is even funnier because I am a pastry chef

I love the name Juniper.  Alewen reminds me of Eowyn from LOTR but I also went to school with a girl named Eowyn because her parents were LOTR superfans so I have weird associations with the name, I guess.

Oh that's too bad. I like Zevia and Zevi. I love names that mean wolf. I really wanted to name the baby Vuk which is Serbian for wolf (DH is Serbian) but my family is giving me a hard time and saying he would be teased and it sounds like Fuk.

I can see where come children would possiblely latch on to that one lol

dont you just hate it when theres a name you love but you find something wrong with it

I love Tabitha - between bewitched and my mom saying it will get turned into tabby which in high school will likely lead to less fun nicknames i just can't do it lol

ah well what can you do?

incidentally we are still kinda set on Zevi cuz we really like it :) but trying to figure out something else for a girl my fav so far is

zayanya its aztec i think lol hubby really wants a z name

I love it! And you'll anve a Benny and June! Juniper is very pretty. And I don't think it's too unique, it's just right!  And I really like Aelwin! The combination is just right!

I like Juniper. I like June even more but I tend to like shorter names. June and Juni are very cute and go with your kids names.

I love Juniper and June!  Fiona is really cute, too. She is a good character in Shrek, and it's much better than being named after a Disney princess or mermaid or something. winky.gif

Aelwin reminds me of alewife.  I don't know if I like it or not, I am undecided!

With three syllable names, I like a one syllable middle name. It sounds more balanced or something. Maybe I'm cuckoo.  redface.gif

No, you're not cuckoo at all, that's what I keep saying to myself....I keep catching on the middle name because of it's length....but I can't think of any middle names for Juniper!

Juniper Grace?? But Grace is so popular.

Juniper Mae??

Juniper Lynne?? I don't really like Lynne...grew up around the south a lot and have known waaaayy too many "something-Lynnes" you know?

One syllable middle names are TOUGH!

Oooooh, that has "JJ factor" too!! Haha...I really actually love this....hmmmmm....can anyone think of anything else, any other one syllable middle names? I didn't even think of JANE!

I think Juniper Jane sounds like a little "character", you'll have to write a children's story about her. :)
