Reasons for an early ultrasound? - Page 2 « Back to Group Discussions

So you all think having a prior loss naturally means an early US is needed?  Is that mostly for peace of mind?  I lost the last baby at 12 wks.  No tests were done to determine why, so I can only figure it was DNA abnormality or the like.  I'm very excited to be pregnant again and telling a lot of people already because I have faith this is a sticky one.  Also, to be honest, I spoke to two intuitives in the past year who reassured me another child was waiting and ready to join the family soon and I trust those messages wholeheartedly.

Well Joy - I actually spoke to the Nurse at intake and she didn't say I would necessarily have one this early is the CNM didn't think it was necessary. So - I won't know until my appointment on Tuesday whether my past loss will require an earlier than normal u/s. My OB said it would but my CNM might not worry as much about it. We'll see.

I also had a reading after my loss and the baby's spirit was seen around me. I actually sat through a spiritual/traditional ceremony to have it released/put to rest. I felt so light afterward and I have faith that all is well with this pregnancy too. I think that think that trying not to worry is really important for me. I know that worry and stress can affect my health.

I would like an early one this time to reassure me after my loss last year. I think I only had 2 ultrasounds with my first. One areound 12 weeks and one at 20. With my second I was seeing a German doctor and they wanted to do one at every appointment, but I said no several times.

I had one this pregnancy because we were concerned about fibroids. If some were found, ? Was going to work with my herbalist to stop or reverse their growth (in a pregnancy safe way).

No fibroids were found, and baby looked great!
