One strange thing I had today (TMI)....I had been up about an hour and went downstairs to get breakfast and I felt a gush from my vagina so I thought "hmm must have passed a clot" I went to the bathroom and as I pulled my pants down a clot fell on the floor and blood continued to pour out (all over my fave yoga pants argh) all over the floor, the toilet seat, my pad was soaked through and it kept dripping out for a few mins after sitting on the toilet...it lessened but continued to be quite a bit for the next hour or so, but, has been ok since...I took care to lay down most of the day (thankfully my dad took the kids for 2hrs because DH went back to work today)...anyway...freaked me out (I was shaking afterwards lol I don't think I've ever seen that much blood come out of my own body before (I didn't look after the birth)...I guess it was ok though because it stopped...and it was a good excuse to make me rest - I had a huge agenda today because I'm stressing about MIL coming Thursday (she told my SIL her house was filthy when she stayed with them after my nephew was born...totally uncalled for - her house WAS messy - but, totally livable, and MIL didn't offer to clean it or anything).

Oh mama!  I passed a clot like that with my first and I freaked and went to the doctor.  I just couldn't believe that anything like that could come from my body.  Take it easy and rest, rest, rest.

What is it with clots now? I'm 3 weeks pp today, and last night my flow increased again, and I passed a clot the size of about a small grape, after not having any since a few days pp. Now since then, the flow has been heavier again, and little clots constantly. I'm torn between wanting to lay down on the couch and let my body rest, and be active so that I can help all this stuff on its way out of my body. Im so ready to be done bleeding!

LilMomma:  I'm sorry to hear you had such a scary clot.  That'd freak me out, too!  Just wanted to say that hydrogen peroxide is what my midwife calls the "blood eraser."  She uses it for the blood that gets on furniture, rugs, etc. during homebirths.  If you just get your yoga pants wet and spray or pour some hydrogen peroxide on there, it will fizz up and rinse away.  I never knew about this before my first birth, and I'm still amazed by it.

I'm one week PP and I feel really great! I was able to get out and go grocery shopping last night, and picked up a couple things for Xmas this afternoon. I tried on some normal jeans, and my biggest size is loose (but I'm not really for tighter jeans yet so I am wearing them)! I've been belly binding and I think it helps too :)

Thanks for the suggestion MammaTangerine! I already ran them through the wash, thankfully the blood did come out as best I can tell...

DH did let me sleep an extra hour while he did some more unpacking (we moved in October, but, we still have a few boxes in each room...including the living room) and cleaning/organizing and brought the Christmas tree and decorations in...then we worked together for several hours while I wore baby girl and after he left for work I finally sat down to feed the baby and my little sister helped (sort of) my boys decorate the tree....it has all the decorations on the first 3 feet of it, but, I'm ok with that...its up lol...and it will probably end up being a fond memory of the year the essentially decorated it on their own (at ages 4 and 2 haha)...my bleeding has picked up again a little so now I am continueing to stay parked for another hour or so until my mama friend brings dinner, and I will probably try and unpack the last few things in the kitchen after that...I need to save some energy because I REALLY want to go to LLL tomorrow - I never get to go because of work, so I'm super excited to make it happen!!! :-D Now I *think* my MIL might be coming in the afternoon/evening instead on Thursday, turns out my BIL is getting her from the airport instead of DH (YAY!) so hopefulyl she will stay with them for a few hours...of course I also just remembered that my BFF is coming to visit Thursday (she lives half across the country from me), but, she is cool and will probably help (as bad as I feel to make her work when I haven't seen her in months)..but, we also need to sit and work on her wedding plans...so that will force me to rest too hehe...

So its almost time to start "weaning off" my placenta pills but I am kind of nervous about it....but, eventually they will run out (thankfully I had a big placenta so I have lots of pills but still they won't last forever) and my friend was really clear about not going "cold turkey" off them...eek...I might at least wait until after Christmas and my MIL leaves before starting to wean off...my goal would be to get totally off them for a couple weeks before my meternity leave is over and then maybe take a couple as needed my first couple days back (which I am so excited my midwife just faxed my "work release" to the HR dept at work and HR had me coming back the 20th of January but my midwife didn't release me to come back until the 24th so now I have a couple extra days home!)

All in all I think today is going a little better...my mood is definitly better...my mom was here for several hours so I think that helped too...there is just nobody like one's mother. :-)

I only have five placenta pills left! Booooo!!

Also, I'm having difficulties figure out what is kidney related, what's baby related so I'll ask you ladies.

Do you get sharp pains in your vaginal area? it's so hard to explain.. it's almost like a spasm or something? at first I thought it was my bladder and that my kidney stone moved into it so it's feeling weird, but now I think it might be just post partum pain? The pain is worse when I lay down at night.

I got some cramping when nursing, but otherwise, nothing like you describe.

I did have some kind of odd, "heavy" feeling in my vagina one day when I'd go to the bathroom. Like I had more stuff to push out, but of course I didn't. PTSD muscle memory? Lol!

Mamamo-- I've noticed that I have a huge sensitivity near my clitoris. I can't even figure out if it's internal or external, or if it's actually my clitoris, or just near. I think it's probably some sort of nerve damage. It didn't start until about a week postpartum, but now it happens randomly-- I think it tends to be if I'm in an odd position, or if I rub something against it. It's sharp- feels like cutting glass. Fun!  Other than that-- I had sharp pains prior to the labor that felt like they were coming from my cervix. I chalked it up to cervical changes. Maybe it's your cervix going back?

Aeterna-- I have a very similiar feeling. Started at about 2.5 weeks pp. I'm currently researching prolapses and crossing my fingers that's not it. Since the heavy feeling has started though, my bleeding also increased again, which doesn't strike me as a good thing.

Eep! Well I'll cross my fingers, too. I haven't had an increase in bleeding or any clots or anything, and I only had that sensation a couple of times. Plus, medical complications would just be inconvenient right now, so, that *can't* be it! lol.gif

I'm having sharp pains in my lower abdominal area (more like pelvic area but it doesn't feel like the bone/joint) they are usually followed by a clot(s) and then an increase and return to bright red bleeding...so I think somehow it must be connected.... that said, when I had kidney stones a few weeks after DS2 was born I swore I was about to have another kid lol....it felt SOOOO similar...I will say once they finally passed (and I passed a few since then as well) it was just like "oh" and out it popped...after the days/weeks of agony...wierd. I do remember it feeling achy at first and switching to more stabby as it got closer to passing.
