My four year old has been running102-103.6 fever for going on the second day. I finally gave in and gave him Tylenol so he could get some sleep. He seems to be handling it ok. But his fever is back up to 103. I am new at letting the fever "run it's course". But am strongly for it. Please let me know what I should do. He's not complaining of any other symptoms or pains. Doesn't even say his head hurts. Please help.

I would break a fever that high, but that's just me. I'm 100% on board with letting a fever run its course until it gets up above 101, BUT!, my kids are always miserable with fevers that high. If he's not complaining, still moving around and playing and stuff, I'd say you could skip it. I typically take mine to the doctor if they have a fever that doesn't break on its own after 24 hours (or if they complain of a specific pain that is paired with a fever) simply b/c I want to treat ear infections or strep throat (the things my kids get most frequently) ASAP. Or get some pain meds for an ear infection if it doesn't need antibiotics.
