Amazon might be a good one, too. I've never tried, but have read so many good things about the BumGenius 4.0. Everyone over at www.diaperswappers.com seems to love them. The website I purchased most of my cloth diapers, covers etc from this time around has a registry also: www.jilliansdrawers.com

I'm gun-shy when it comes to registries because I put things on my wedding registry that my IL family made fun of me for ($75 chef's knife...and I was choosing the less expensive one!). If they give me crap about a $75 chef's knife, can you imagine what they'd say about a $50 trash can? I love them very much but sometimes we disagree slightly on such things.

Have any of you registered for diapers? There isn't anywhere local to me that sells them (which is weird, considering that I'm in a very "hippie" area and a lot of mamas up here cloth diaper), so I'll have to register at a store that's at least 2 hours away. At least they have free shipping! Anyway, does anyone know if it's a pain to do an internet registry?

Bumgenius/Fuzzibuns do have internet registries through Target/Babies R Us; that might be more familiar to some of the older, more conservative women who want to buy stuff for us but aren't familiar with CDing.

*edited to add that I'm going to check out those goodmamas ones now - how cute!

I'm registered for FuzziBunz on Amazon and a online/in-store store in Pittsburgh, where the majority of my ILs are from. My IL shower is going to be huge (40+) so MIL and I decided to make it a diaper shower, in hopes of completing my stash through the one shower. I think registering for dipes is the best thing possible!

I registered on myregistry.com, then I have a wish list on amazon but that is mostly for me to keep track of stuff, most people don't know I have an amazon wishlist. Many online diaper stores offer a registry which is great if they have everything you want.

I went to a thrift store down the street and scored 30 new (look like they've never been used) infant size Chinese prefolds for a buck a piece! They are not the quality of the GMD prefolds that I got newborn size and they are probably bigger even than the GMD yellow edge I will probably still buy some of, but I couldn't pass up the deal.

so i just tried RLR laundry treatment to fix the water repelling in my fuzzi bunz, and Oh MY Goddness!!! It worked!! I can't believe it.  I thought I had tried everything, and was so skeptical, but alas, I now have absorbent diapers once again!

Here's my stash list so far:

Newborn:

2 dozen orange edge GMD prefolds
6 OsoCozy unbleached prefolds
5 flannel with hemp fleece through the middle cute print prefolds
12 Kissaluvs fitteds size 0
3 nb Goodmamas fitteds (OTW)
3 XS FB Perfect Size
10 Target Flour Sack Flats (4 white and 6 colors)
6 Small Bummi Original Wraps
6 Thirsties Duo Wraps size 1
2 nb wool soakers
1 pair nb wool longies with matching hat
45 OsoCozy flannel wipes

Bigger Sizes:

3 SM FB Perfect Size
2 OS Goodmamas (OTW)
6 hemp fleece prefolds (small but not newborn)
30 DSQ prefolds - infant size
1 OS DiaperRite Wrap
4 OS Flip covers
2 small wool soakers
6 Disana Organic Tie Nappies

2 Kissas Antibacterial Liners

4 pairs of pins

1 snappi

2 Boingos

I really need to stop buying. But I might take a picture of my stash when everything comes. I've spent a stupid fortune! blush.gif I think I've overbought especially for the newborn stage which doesn't fit very long. I might have to sell off some stuff for the sake of my conscience.

You won't have to wash every day with that newborn stash that is for sure!  I think I have about about a dozen fitteds, six prefolds and six AIO's for the newborn period.  I might add a few more prefolds so I can have a 2.5 day rotation, but early on there is so much laundry anyway it doesn't make much of a difference!

True! But one of my fears is that if I have a lot then I will get lazy and not wash often enough...leading to stink and stains. I already regret buying the Goodmamas because they are sooo expensive. I'm thinking the Kissaluvs weren't necessary, either. So much with my plan to use mostly prefolds and flats to save money. I've gotten too carried away and I blame Diaper Swappers. I need to stay away from that site. Bad influences, I tell ya. wink1.gif

Just thought I'd share the diaper I made. It's all flannel, with a 6 layer quick dry external soaker sewn inside. I have several cut out, leftover flannels from the quilt I just made, so maybe I'll do some snaps on the others. This one has pink hook and loop closure.

Nice work!

I had my "diaper party" with all the in-laws over the weekend. I'm pretty much *all set* in the dipes department!

FuzziBunz!!!  24 XS, some new and some old style, and 16 One Size Elite. I'm SO THRILLED about these diapers...more so than any cute clothing you could throw at me!

This is me when looking at my dipe drawer:energy.gif

Soooo pretty! I need to wash DDs diapers and figure out how much more I might or might not need. It is hard to not want to get perfectly sized ones. I got two newborn ones because I couldn't help it but the rest are one sized and some prefolds.  I love the fuzi buns one sized. For my baby shower with him that is what I asked for and he still wears them now two years later, they have worked well through the chunky and not so chunky leg phases!  Rosie those diapers and that drawer are beautiful! I used to just open up our diaper drawer before DS was born to just look at them. It was one of the few things that really made me feel like I was ready for him to come!

Not quite as impressive as Rosie's, but I spent today readying our dipes.  I guess if we're ready for dirty bottoms, we're ready for baby!

We have:

6 FB Perfect Size Xsmall

8 FB Perfect Size Small

18 FB One-Size

4 FB Medium

And one pack of newborn disposables for right after the birth.  We may also have to do disposables for daycare, depending on which one we get into, but I'm hoping we come up on one of the waitlists for daycare that will take cloth.

I have:

36 Newborn (orange edge) GMD prefolds

36 Small (yellow edge) GMD prefolds

24 Medium (red edge) GMD prefolds

6 FuzziBunz one size pockets

3 Thirsties Duo size 1 covers

1 Bummis Super Lite newborn cover

1 Bummis Super Brite newborn cover

1 Flip cover (one size? I think)

2 Bummis Super Snap small covers

Over 100 cloth wipes

1 pack of disposables for those first poops

Plus, my mom has a few for me. I found an add on her local kijiji for a woman selling 2 wool covers. I asked my mom to pick them up for me. While chatting with the lady, she also bought from her 1 Apple Cheeks swim diaper, 1 goodmama diaper and 1 kiwi pie diaper. I don't know sizes or anything on them except that the lady said the covers fit from 10 lbs. The good part though is that she's hoping her one in diapers will potty learn in the near future, and she will be calling my mom when she has more ready to sell. Plus this is in the area we are moving to in June, and she's said I can contact her if I have any questions, need anything, etc. So I may have a built in potential friend with similar parenting styles!

Back to diaper talk though... Will that be enough covers for when our baby arrives? Do I need more newborn ones?

That is a great stash! I think that is enough covers...the Duo 1 covers fit newborns really well so you can probably count on those fitting nb and beyond! thumb.gif

Here are PICS of my diaper stash for those of you who like to see such things (like I do)!!!

This isn't quite everything...I still have 5 Goodmama fitteds in production and on their way (honestly, I think I'll probably sell them when they get here because I don't need them and they were my biggest single splurge) and I bought 5 small GMD sherpa prefolds not pictured since taking these pics. I also have 4 M/L Kissas Contours OTW as well that are not pictured.

stash.jpg

This is where they live next to the big dresser in my bedroom that I turned into a changing station.

stash6.jpg

24 GMD Newborn PF, 30 infant PF, 6 hemp fleece PF, 6 nb Indian PF NOT PICTURED: 5 sherpa PF

stash7.jpg

6 Organic Cotton Disana Nappy Ties (I heard Madonna used this kind on her kids), 2 flannel PF with hemp fleece soaker down the middle and 3 small flannel PF with hemp fleece in soaker middle.

stash8.jpg

Flats! I actually have more not pictured.

Picture27.jpg

Covers/wraps: 6 small Bummi Original, 6 Thirsties Duo 1, 4 Flips OS, 1 Diaperite OS. (I will be buying at least 4 newborns that will fit under the umbilical, I think)

IMG_20120302_004226.jpg

Here's the wool I have so far, this is a bad pic though. 2 are newborn and 2 small. The longies and hat are newborn. Better pic below of it. (It's soooo cute in person!)

Newborn Longies and hat! Love it!

I've also made some diapers that aren't pictured and have a bunch more in production in bigger sizes. Now I just need a baby to change!

That is an awesome stash.  You could seriously only wash every 5 days if you had to. And you shouldn't sell the goodmammas, they are sooooo wonderful.

Wow, that stash is intimidating to me.

We now have 28 fuzzibunz XS, and 16 one size. I'm going to sell a few (6?) of the XS and buy a couple covers and flats. They'll be good for travel, I think, and I'll use some leftover to stock up on more OS.

I thought it would be easy to buy flats used. A friend (only real-life CDer I know) told me flats are heavy to ship but definitely better used, since all the oils have been stripped. But there are none on craigslist. I saw one lot pop up but it was gone by the time I came back to it later in the afternoon!?!

Any mamas here have prefolds to sell me?  :D

I MUCH prefer to buy prefolds used - they are expensive to ship, but it still comes out a tad cheaper than buying new and they are so much easier to deal with already prepped. Have you tried diaperswappers? That is the place for used diapers. I hardely ever see used dipes on craigslist, but I have purchased almost my whole stash from diaperswappers (not current and when I had my DD's stash 4 years ago).
