looking for a midwife in the SF bay area

I just found out that I'm pregnant, and I'm looking for any recommendations for a midwife in the SF bay area. We live in Palo Alto, but we haven't been here that long. Any recommendations would be most welcome!

We met with the hospital midwives at Altos Oaks (http://altosoaks.weebly.com/), who are at El Camino Hospital in Mountain View, and with Rosanna at http://www.californiamidwifery.com/, who does home birth. We really liked both. But neither does twins, so we went with Rosanna's backup ob, who was wonderful. (though I would go the midwife route for a simpler birth)

I'm seeing Rosanna Davis for my baby boy due in March, and I love her.  She only does home birth, if that's what you're looking for.  Her office is in Los Altos, and she does prenatal care in a group or individually.  We've really loved the group setting.

The midwife trio of Olga, Bethany, and Lin are no longer affiliated with Altos Oaks in ECH. I believe Bethany and Lin (and another midwife Maria, IIRC) have started their own birthing center in the Bay Area!

It's called Bay Area Maternity & Women's Health - 10430 South De Anza Blvd, Ste 230, Cupertino, CA 95014.

Here is a link to more information about it.

I gave birth November 2010 with Bethany as my attending midwife (at ECH Mt. View) and she was absolutely awesome. I highly recommend Lin and Bethany to anyone who wants a natural/normal birth. I know I would go back to them for my next child.

I used sheila Vanderveer (www.comadresmidwifery) but she just moved to Sebastopol. I'm new to the area so not exactly sure how far that is but she is wonderful. She was located in Richmond and I'm sure would have good referrals if that is closer.

I agree! Lin delivered my baby boy at ECH Mt. View, and I just saw Bethany today for my first prenatal appointment for number two.  We're traveling from SSF because we love them so much!

I used Rosanna Davis for prenatal care and delivery in 2009 while we were living in Palo Alto. She is the BEST and you will absolutely love her.

Hi,  I am with Doctor Rydfors in redwood city- they do not do home birth but are amazing, openminded and patient.  They will give you all the time you need and are super attentive.  They have privileges at Sequoia.
