New to OPK - please help!

Hi Ladies. Please advise on the OPKs. Using them (CVS brand) for the first time on a Clomid cycle. I'm on CD 16 (usually O later in my cycle). Yesterday's line was darker than today's, but both still lighter than the control. What does that mean? What happens to the line after the surge? I've been POAS since CD 10. Trying not to panic that I've missed my window. Haven't dtd since DH is sick and waiting for the positive opk, but feeling really anxious.

Here's my chart:

Any thoughts? Thanks!

I'm sure this info is not helpful now...a week later.  However, I thougth I'd put in my thoughts anyway.  For me the line starts out very faint and gets a littler darker until turns positive.  That's normally takes about 3 days.  I always get a positive on morning urine and normally the day of O.  So, while the tests are helpful, you really have to know your own body.

This month I was on a letrozole cycle and my RE had me come in for a scan at the first sign of any second line.  So on day 12 I had line so faint only some one obessesed with TTC would even had seen it.  I went in and sure enough just as I thought it was too early too trigger, but I did have follicles developing.  So, had to go back again the next day.

All that said...for future reference I would get busy when I see any kind of line.  ;)  Per the nurse at the office.

FWIW, I pretty much always have a line. It somewhat gets darker and darker up to the surge, but there are times when it's lighter the next day than it was the previous and there's other times when it looks like it's gearing up to be positive, but it doesn't actually turn positive until later in the cycle. HTH.

OPK's can be difficult to read and so I always like to chart and do OPK's as my charting helps me to read the OPK's.  If I can remember correctly with DS2 I considered my positive to be the day the test line was *almost* the same as the control line.  The day of O the test line was darker then the day before.  Hope that helps!! It really is a science :)
