Want an Ergo, but...

...having tried one on in the past, the belt is about 2 inches to short. I can get it buckled, but it is anything but comfortable.
Suggestions?

They also sell a belt extender.

My big concern with that is that I've heard from several people that when you use the belt extender, all of a sudden the shoulder straps land in the wrong place and it's not as comfortable as it should be.  It's why I chose not to get an Ergo.  I'd be looking for another SSC that comes with longer straps, instead.
