recycling kleenex boxes into car trash cans

two young kids and a mini van. today i invested a good 2.5 hours cleaning it (bringing in coats, shoes, art work, stuffed animals, etc. etc.) PICKING UP TRASH, mostly little scraps of paper, gum wrappers, etc. etc. then i took it over to a quick detail place and $50 later it's almost as good as new.

tonight driving home i had the brainstorm of saving our used up kleenex boxes to use as trash cans in the car. i'll have one in the front, and the kids can have another in the back, right between their car seats. no more handing me sticky sucker sticks or goopy kleenex from nose blows. just feed it into the old kleenex box. and when it's filled up, into the trash the whole thing goes, and we take out a new used up box.

tell me this is an old idea, and i am just now getting around to discovering it.

Another thing they are good for is holding plastic grocery bags!  You can stuff like 30 bags in one kleenex box and then it acts like a dispenser.

It's the little "thumbs up" button beside the "multi", "quote" and "reply" buttons at the bottom of the post. 

I do the same thing with old tissue boxes. I have one to hold the occasional plastic bag that still comes into the house (dh is notorious for shopping without our re-usable bags) and another to hold the bags we use to pick up after the dog when we walk him.
