Sweating attacks

I am worried about my father. He is 62 years old, a bit overweight, does not work out, has a stressfull, demanding job and gets angry quite a lot.

I would love for him to take better care of himself. He does the best he feels able too, I think. He is willing to listen, and since we're into traditional foods I gave him a tip about coconut oil, which he has started taking. After that, he could reduce his medicine for hypertension.

But lately, he has started getting sudden episodes of sweating a lot. It can come on at any time, he does not have to be working hard for it to happen. Can anyone point me in a direction for more information about this? Do you think it is related to his body struggeling with something? Any information is greatly appreciated!

I would advise him to see his internist and get a complete work-up including stress test, ekg, fasting cholesterol, etc. If he is overweight and not exercising or eating right, it could possibly be a heart issue. The sudden sweating with no cause is concerning. I speak from experience with my dh. Your best gift to him would be encouraging him to see a doctor.
