What are your morning and evening routines like?

How early do you wake up? Is it before or with your kids? If before, what do you use that time for? What time do you go to bed? I'm just wondering.

For the new year, I've decided to establish goals, and seriously focus and work on them. That includes getting up early instead of staying in bed and oversleeping. I might actually get to do things like yoga and stretch, and not have to rush!

I wake up around 6:30 and try to get in a half hour of yoga before my kids wake up. But sometimes my one year old is just too snuggly and I can't get out of bed until he wakes up... one trick that worked for me to get up early (I was getting up at 4am to get kids to daycare before work) was to have a coffee maker on a timer to make my morning chai and also a diffuser with crisp livley scents like citrus. That way I would smell to wake up instead of using an alarm clock that would wake up my kids too.

as for going to bed I always feel like it's too late since I usually have to wait till the kids are asleep to have any time to study or just read.

My kiddo is older (11) and I don't have a regular schedule (re: no steady employment) so we don't have a routine.  I NEED one too.  Some days I am up early, or still up from the night before- I have sleep issues.  Other times my kiddo is up way before me.  The days I have work I am up and out by 630-7am.   I guess its just a mess over here.

Ideally I would be up between 530-6 for a job at 7-330.  Now if anyone has a lead that would be thumb.gif

Kiddo is self sufficient and homeschooled.

My DD is 3 and we sleep in the same bed. We get up at 6h15 every morning, but she likes to lounge around in bed (or go visit her grandpa in his bed) while I get ready. We're out the door by 7h15 to drop her off at daycare. I'm at work by 8h15.

My morning routines have been greatly helped by the following:

a) my morning green smoothie is made the night before, right after dinner

b) I've started using the crockpot to have hot oatmeal right when we wake up

c) My and DD's clothing are all laid out the night before, and her backpack is ready to go, right by the door

d) I leave her winter coat at the daycare and have made her a carseat poncho to cut down on the struggling and swearing while I try to buckle her into her carseat.

I really would like to add in some yoga, but DD immediately takes my exercising as a sign that it's time to play and hang off my back...

My evening routines are pretty consistent as well:

a) Dinner around 18h00

b) Pack lunch for myself and make a smoothie...clean up and dishes afterwards

c) Bathtime/shower time around 18h30...prep clothing for the next day

d) Play time from 19h00 onwards while mommy cleans up a bit

e) DD gets to watch 25 minutes of prerecorded shows at 19h30

f) Bedtime for DD at 20h00 with 2 stories and 2 songs, and 2 minutes laying in bed next to her

g) Mommy brushes teeth/washes face in the adjoining bathroom while DD tries to find excuses to get up :)

h) Study time from 20h45 onwards.

i) Bedtime for mommy at 22h00

Lather, rinse, repeat.

It depends... if they are in school- I try to get up before them!!  I usually get up around 6:30 tho many days I am up at 4:30 and no I don't use the time wisely....I usually sit on the computer.

they get up around 7 and we leave for school around 7:45. I pick them up at 3 fifteen.

Night routine- dinner around 6 one movie, story time and bed is the goal.
