Monkeyscience, hope you made your goal. I have been feeling so exhausted lately and not feeling the best either.  Your DH sounds great.  Chores are piling up but thankfully my DH also took some time off work and has been helping out so much.

Hey monkey and andaluza, talked to my RE today and we looked at my pre-ovualtion bloodwork and stuff and decided on a new due date for me of 08/15! Only one day after both of you! :) I'm relieved because I knew I ovulated late and I didn't want to be told I was going over.

Heard the baby's heartbeat today, soooo excited. For some reason they didn't show me the baby on the screen but just printed pictures, but it was measuring about 7 weeks 1 day so hence the adjustment.

I am happy to present my ticker. I am hoping this is going to allow me to be more positive.

Next step is graduating from the RE to the OB. I have a rec for an office with three female docs which I think sounds great. Hopefully I could meet all of them and then if it wasn't my doc for the birth it would be one of the other two. I really, really don't want a male doc to deliver my baby, my RE seemed to know this and recommended this practice. Going to call tomorrow and we'll see when they want to see me. I guess the next u/s would be the 12 week NT scan.

Sooo tired.

Boots-- how exciting!!  I didn't know you could hear the heartbeat so early, that's awesome!

I was 7 weeks exactly last week at my ultrasound and saw and heard that little heartbeat loud and clear! Cried, of course. love.gif

Ahhhhh!  U/S on Thursday!  This week could not possible move more slowly...  joy.gif

Welcome to all the new first-timers!  So much has happened on this thread that I have missed.

I missed your update, Boots, when we were out of town, although I saw it on the baingo grads thread. Great to find out more about your u/s!! I hope you click with the new ob group. My ob is by herself so I have to find out a lot of info about what happens if she is not available for my birth.

I will know with more certainty if Aug 14 is a good date for the growth on Thursday at my u/s. I have told dh to be armed with his phone to take pics and videos of the screen, just in case. I hope my ob is not secretive about it. She was when she searched for overstimulated ovaries on my 2nd clomid cycle, so we'll see.

Dh goes back to work tomorrow, Monkey, and I am going to miss his attentiveness. He was great when I got so sick last week (I woke him up to oversee my 2nd vomiting attack in the middle of the night). He was not traumatized by it at all, so now we know who will have the pleasure of that duty when our child is sick.

How is work going, LilyTiger? Dh helped me do some scanning work I needed to accomplish for my project today, so I feel good about it. I have a system in place to keep on top of my goals and I just need to stick to it. I was so frightened when I got sick because I thought that there would be no way possible to work normally or even function in that state, but now I am more positive.

Hope everyone has a great start to the week!

Thanks for asking, Andaluza, and good to see you back on the boards.  Work is going slowly.  I'm at the coffee shop right now trying to clean up a chapter, but it's an uphill battle.  I have about 2 hours of solid thinking and then the brain just shuts down.  I'm taking a quick sandwich break, so I figured I'd check the boards before returning to work.  I just realized last night that I have exactly a month and a half to finish this entire book, so that has lit a fire, so to speak.  Sounds like you're doing really well.  I just need to figure out how to handle this mid-afternoon shut down better.  Food helps a little, but only for a very short period.  Are you so excited for the U/S on Thursday?  Our doc said we could bring a CD that they would upload pics to, so of course I'm ridiculously excited.  It'll probably just look like a little grape, but whatever.  It's our little grape!

Hoping everyone else had a great New Year!

Just to update the original post...

I've been flat on my back with morning sickness the past 2 weeks. So I'm just catching up on the boards!

So I told my sister yesterday that I was pregnant and she way freaked out with excitement that we're pregnant at the same time and today posted a list on her blog of what you do need and don't need for all those first time mothers who are overwhelmed by the suggested baby registries.  She's so funny, I'm sure it was connected to my news for her.  But I have to say I'm thankful.  I know I want to cloth diaper (although she doesn't go into too much detail in this post about it), and that I don't want to buy a ton of baby stuff, so her list was pretty helpful.  She also posted the link to her facebook and other mom's added their input (like using old wool blankets underneath fitted sheets instead of waterproof bed linings).  All in all, I found it to be pretty helpful since I find the prospect of getting everything I need overwhelming.  Obviously, some of her suggestions are very influenced by her beliefs, and some things, like breast pumps and bottles, she doesn't know a lot about since she hasn't really had a need for them.  It's a good starting point though.  Note: she was having issues with her computer so it isn't edited or updated, but I guess she is going to edit/append it at some point.

Just popping in quickly to say the midwife got a heartbeat with the doppler today and saw one squirmy bean on the ultrasound, so we are good for a birth center birth and feeling much reassured that all is well!

Congrats on the hearbeat, monkey! I feel like maybe I said that in another thread, but it's worth saying again. :)

orngtongue.gif Congrats, Monkeyscience!

Congrats, monkeyscience!  Hearing the heartbeat is such a relief.  Great news about the birth center and everything.

For those who are thinking about cloth diapering, my friend Elisa has three kids and she wrote a detailed blog about cloth diapering, including how many of what different things you need.  She's pretty minimalist, so we'll all probably adapt the info to our interests.  But, I found it super helpful.  http://www.elisaloves.com/2011/09/how-we-cloth-diaper-our-babies.html

Hope everyone is doing well!  I seem to be moving out of m/s and am feeling a lot more energetic at 10+ weeks.  Finally.

fab cloth diapering post - thanks for sharing!!!

What a great post about diapering, this is one thing that just seems so overwhelming to me.

I have my u/s on Friday, and I thought I was already 8 weeks, but it turns out I'll just be 7 weeks tomorrow.  I hope I can still hear the heartbeat.  Did anyone else have their first appointment that early?  And if so, did you get to hear the heartbeat?

Congrats Lily Tiger and MonkeyScience on the HB's.  joy.gif

And great cloth diaper post, very helpful.   Veritas, I wouldn't be surprised if you saw the heartbeat.  I did going in at 7w5d (and it was fast, strong, and amazing!) but after the U/S they told me I was 8 weeks exactly.

Andazula, how did your appointment go?

I saw and heard the heartbeat (via the internal ultrasound, also known as the dildocam) at 7 weeks exactly this time, Veritas Vitaesmile.gif

Great news about all of us seeing or about to see our tiny beans and heartbeats-Monkey, Veritas, LilyTiger, Boots, Sol, etc.!

Thanks for asking, Sol_y_paz! I wrote about it somewhere...? Measuring well and also saw the heartbeat flickering in the sonogram (dildocam--ha) image. So we are feeling good about that. I am 9 weeks today! Yay!

Isn't your surgery coming up this week, Sol? I've been thinking about you and I hope that it goes really well.

Thanks for sharing those links, Veritas and LilyTiger! I'm counting on the urge to make all these decisions coming in the next few months. Right now I have a vague sense of how I want to do everything, but I don't want to get into all the details yet. I really need to scope out the good second hand stores for stuff. I work close to a very wealthy area and can imagine finding some cool things if I stop by the area thrift stores a few times a month.

I'm having another ultrasound today (unplanned, was having some pain but it's probably nothing, but who is going to say no to an ultrasound?). I really didn't get to see my baby at all during my 7 week u/s, so I hope that I can see the heartbeat and see the baby move today. :)

For some reason I've sort of stopped caring about baby stuff right now. I guess I just want to make it through the rest of this trimester. I do wish we could make some progress on cleaning out the room, though. It needs to be completely emptied and painted.
