Echinacea tea... Iced?

I'm coming down with a cold- sore throat started today.  I need to hit the echinacea- but will iced work?  I'm really not into hot tea, and usually grit my teeth and bear with it- but will iced echinacea have the same effect?

In the summer I make herbal infusions instead of teas and they work just as well if not better. Most pre mixed tea bags don't have enough herbs to be really effective. I would recommend getting bulk echinaccea and putting a half cup or so in a quart of water and letting it sit over night to make an infusion. I even do this in the winter sometimes and then heat a cup of it when I want to drink 'tea'.

However if you have a scratchy throat the heat and honey are also helpful not just the herbs... so I'm not sure which would work best in your situation. Maybe you could brew a strong infusion and sip on it throughout the day and take an occasional shot of hot liquid with dissolved honey...

I've done both echinacea and ginger iced, both teas and infusions. Awesome!
