hi - so i'm looking to get my 6 month old daughter a thimerosal (mercury)-free flu vaccination and it looks like the only one that is thimerosal-free and is approved for 6 month olds is fluzone prefilled syringes.  the problem is that i can't get it from my pediatrician and can't find a pharmacy to fill it either.  does anyone know where i can get some around philly?  thanks!

Have you tried Faculty Practice @ CHOP?  215-590-2178 is their number.

thanks!  i just tried them and they won't do it unless we make them our daughter's primary care practice unfortunately.  thanks for the suggestion though.  i'm gonna try calling some more pharmacies i think

How about the urgent care centers?   Concentra has several around the area http://www.concentra.com/.

Just tried them and they don't vaccinate for kids under 9, plus they only have the 10 dose bottles which actually does have the thimerisol unfortunately :(  Thanks again though and wish me luck as I plow on!

Success!  It took me many attempts over 2 days to actually speak to a nurse over the phone, but you can get the thimerisol-free prefilled syringes of fluzone at any Philadelphia City Health Center as a walk-in!  Thanks, Spotted Fox, for all your help!
