I wish I could help! My dog howls at fire truck sirens, recordings of pipe organ music, when I play my alto recorder, at the tea kettle whistle, and when our phone plays the Russian dance theme from the Nutcracker Suite. eyesroll.gif it can get pretty annoying.

If you dog is howling in response to the baby it isn't because the sounds is hurting him or bothering him. Howling is an instinctual response in dogs derived from wild wolves calling to each other across vast distances.

The baby's cries must be at a pitch the dog can hear and they are triggering this response. Your dog is simple communicating with the baby, that's all.

Ours does too. You are far more sympathetic then me. It drives me bonkers! My kiddo is 18mths and my 7 year old Chi still whines and yelps whenever the baby does!
