Hi everyone. I'm sorry I have missed out on this thread for so long. There are so many gems here, thanks to you all for posting all you have so far!
I've been living the lifestyle, but not posting about it. I'm a K-yoga teacher too, but I am not currently teaching any classes, I'm trying to organize my teaching schedule for the next year.
I also feel that hooping is very yogic, as well as lots of other practices. I love to combine dance with breathwork. I've created a few virtual programs but what I really miss is the in-person yoga community and it's hard to have that in the town I live in.
I've been working on learning more chants and regularly chanting So Purkh. (in a few cycles over the past few years)
I really like the 40 day Sadhana that was posted on Spirit Voyage, it's always been one of my favorite kriyas. Unfortunately I won't be going to Winter Solstice this year.
I have been doing maybe one cold shower a week. I am usually reluctant to accept that it is wintertime! I know I need to just get used to it, I love the way I feel when I take cold showers. My diet hasn't been as good as I'd like. I had some major issues with food allergies and just haven't enjoyed eating much in a few months. But I'm going to fix that really, really soon. Simplicity does it for me and I'm just going to splurge and order my favorite fruits rather than grocery shopping!
For me fruit is a major part of my yogic lifestyle, because it was during my teacher training that I was introduced to eating a produce-based diet and when I first really fell in love with fruit and fruit meals. The early morning fruit+yoga+chanting+cold shower ritual is bliss and balance for me, if I will just remember to practice it!
I'm planning on buying some yogi music for my kids for Christmas and they have also asked for clothes to make them look like "yogi princesses".
I haven't hooped in a few years and my youngest daughter(3) has never had her own hoop, so I am also planning to get hoops for us all soon.
I plan on coming back to this thread more often!
