several of my favorite novels are about the experience of Jewish American women, stories in which faith plays a role:

Three Daughters by Letty Cottin Pogrebin

Kaaterskill Falls by Allegra Goodman

The Romance Reader by Pearl Abraham

there are several others eluding recollection....

any suggestions?

I really like Naomi Ragen's novels- some are set in the US, others in Israel. Some both :)

Just purchased two from your list on my Nook- thanks!

Not sure if this is exactly what you're thinking of, but "Bee Season" by Myla Goldberg is about a young Jewish American girl.  It's a great book.

Ruth Knaffo Setton is a Jewish woman writer. I haven't read anything of hers for quite a while, but I remember liking whatever it was that I read back in college. http://www.ruthknafosetton.com/

How about the novels of Dara Horn? I recently read and enjoyed All Other Nights that takes place during the Civil War. I believe many of her books have Jewish female characters.
