What do you want to play today?

Thread Starter

I am looking for ideas for my 20 month old. He is so curious and independent! The down side is that he quickly ends our (myself and my 4 year old) games. It's all harmless enough, usually I am amused, but lately no activity last more than a few minutes (literally). Maybe, I am to distracted with what my preschooler wants or needs? Can someone help remind me of toddler favorites? I mean besides coloring in the story books..

A new game we started with our 2.5yr old, which would also be good for your 4 yr old, is adventure hunt.

Basically, we write a list of a bunch of things we will seek out on a walk and then go out and seek them out. We can collect them or take pictures of them.

For instance:

feather

fire truck,

grey stone

twig,

wreath

red door

etc

etc

It makes for a nice walk and something to keep them busy.

Our DD is also proud of herself for finding the things on the list.

Another game is having her bear and doll chant her name and say "go go go" as she runs laps through our living room.

She also loves shooting her cars down an empty wrapping paper tube. We use it like a ramp and the cars shoot out the bottom and skid across the floor.
