I recently miscarried at 7w1d and had the mercury-free rhogam injection 2.5 weeks ago.  This was my 4th pregnancy - and 1st m/c.

Last week, I had lots of autoimmune bloodwork, just in case that may be the cause of my m/c.  Everything was negative, except I had a barely +ANA.  My titer was 1:40, which is usually considered negative.  Quest considers 1:40-1:80 to be low antibody level.

I have a history of +ANA associated with pregnancy and postpartum.  This started in my 2nd pregnancy.  Since postpartum with DS2, I've not had a +ANA.  I still check it periodically - last in June 2011, which was -ANA.

With researching online, I've found that rhogam can result in a false positive ANA.  I'm really thinking that this probably is my situation.

Additionally, I found info online indicating that rhogam (even mercury-free) is associated with autoimmune disease.

And of course, there is the rhogam-autism connection.  My DS1 is my only rh+ child, and he has autism.  With him, I had mercury-filled rhogam 1x in pregnancy and 1x postpartum.

Since we are planning to ttc again right away - hopefully within a week - I'm concerned re my mercury-free rhogam injection and it causing my +ANA and the effect of my future baby.

Just wondering what you guys think about my concerns...

Thanks

Julie
