Cord Blood registry

Thoughts?  Are you doing it?  Have you done it?

No. We prefer to delay clamping so that kiddo gets a full blood supply and a lowered chance of anemia.

I've read that you can delay cord clamping for 3-5 minutes, and then get the benefits of delayed clamping such as lowered chances/rates of anemia, and still have enough cord blood to bank.

If we were planning on a hospital birth for this one, I think we'd try that route; but we're planning a home birth unless something unexpected happens, so I don't think there's really a way to do that.  I wonder.  I'll have to ask the midwife.

I haven't done it and I wouldn't do it.
